Duties
- You will analyze and define network requirements.
- You will define and maintain network architecture and infrastructure.
- You will review and identify specific potential vulnerabilities existing in the network infrastructure.
- You will configure and optimize network servers, hubs, routers, switches, and DoD and commercial encryption devices.
- You will diagnose and resolving network problems.
- You will analyze, isolate, and repair network issues.
- You will install, test, maintain, and upgrade network operating systems software.
- You will ensure the rigorous application of information security/ information assurance policies, principles, and practices in the delivery of network services.
- You will communicate authoritatively both orally and in writing at all levels of the organization and develop succinct and well-organized written correspondence, plans, reports, and briefs.
- You will coordinate the work of lower-level specialists who may be involved in performing segments of the overall project task under your cognizance.
- You will research and stay up to date on latest data network concepts and technologies, such as SDN and SD-WAN.
- You will gain understanding and implement Zero Trust architecture.

- Successful completion of a pre-employment drug test (including marijuana) is required. A tentative offer of employment will be rescinded if you fail to report to the drug test appointment or fail the test. You will be subject to random testing.
- This position is designated as a Cyber IT/Cybersecurity Workforce position. You must obtain and maintain the credentials as described in SECNAV M-5239.2 for framework role 441, level Intermediate within 12 months of appointment.
- This position may require travel from normal duty station to CONUS and OCONUS and may include remote or isolated sites. You must be able to travel on military and commercial aircraft for extended periods of time.
Qualifications
Your resume must also demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the ND-04 (GS-11/12 equivalent) pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector performing Information Technology work designing, configuring, administering, or troubleshooting information system networks, network components, or architecture.

IT-related experience demonstrating this competency may include: participating in IT working groups; providing advice or guidance to customers or management on implementing IT network enhancements or maintaining IT system performance.
- Problem Solving - Identifies problems; determines accuracy and relevance of information; uses sound judgment to generate and evaluate alternatives, and to make recommendations. IT-related experience demonstrating this competency may include: identifying or isolating IT network architecture problems and recommending solutions or correcting problems.

This position is part of the Warfare Centers Personnel Demonstration Project. The NT-05 pay band encompasses positions equivalent to the GS-13 and GS-14 grade levels. The salary range shown in the announcement represents all of the positions within the band, including high-grade positions. This is not a high-grade position; therefore, the salary may be limited to a GS-13 Step 10 (currently $134,435).
