Our client, an American retailer that owns and operates 4 brands that are well known, is looking for someone to join their team as a Network Architect - Retail & Store Connectivity. This role is fully remote!
This is a yearlong W2 contract with benefits offered
In this role, you will design and lead scalable, secure, and highly available network solutions for large-scale retail and store environments. This role will drive architecture strategy across LAN, WAN, Store Wi-Fi, SD-WAN, 5G, and IoT connectivity, enabling modern, resilient, and future-ready store networks.
What You Will Be Doing
- Design and define end-to-end network architecture for distributed retail/store environments
- Lead architecture initiatives for Store Wi-Fi, LAN, WAN, SD-WAN, and 5G connectivity solutions
- Develop reference architectures, standards, and best practices for large-scale network deployments
- Support “Store of the Future” initiatives, including integration of IoT devices such as POS systems, handhelds, kiosks, cameras, and sensors
- Partner with security teams to implement segmentation, Zero Trust, and secure edge networking strategies
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams including store technology, cloud, infrastructure, and product teams
- Evaluate and recommend networking technologies, vendors, and service providers
- Provide technical leadership and mentorship to engineering and operations teams
- Support high-severity incident escalations and drive root cause analysis when required

Required Skills & Experience
- 7+ years of experience in network architecture and enterprise network design
- Strong expertise in LAN, WAN, Wi-Fi, SD-WAN, and branch networking technologies
- Hands-on experience with Cisco and Juniper networking platforms
- Deep understanding of routing and switching protocols including BGP, OSPF, VLANs, and QoS
- Proven experience designing networks for large-scale distributed environments with hundreds or thousands of sites
- Strong understanding of network security architecture, including firewalls, segmentation, VPNs, and DNS security
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills
