Job Description


Contract Product Designer – Card Payments (Remote, Eastern Europe)

  • Rate: €350 per day
  • Duration: 12 months
  • Location: Fully remote (Eastern Europe-based candidates preferred)


About the Role

We are looking for an experienced Product Designer to join a high-performing payments team focused on building seamless card and cross-border payment experiences. This role offers the opportunity to work on complex financial products that support small and medium-sized businesses, shaping intuitive, scalable, and user-centric solutions.


You will take ownership of key design initiatives, collaborating closely with Product Managers, Engineers, and Researchers to deliver impactful outcomes across the full product lifecycle.


Key Responsibilities

  • Lead the end-to-end design process, from discovery and research through to high-fidelity execution
  • Translate complex business and user needs into clear, elegant design solutions
  • Collaborate cross-functionally to ensure cohesive and seamless user experiences
  • Conduct user research and leverage data insights to inform design decisions
  • Contribute to and evolve design systems and component libraries
  • Advocate for user-centric thinking across product and engineering teams


Experience:

  • Minimum 6 years of relevant experience in Product Design, ideally within a SaaS, Fintech, or high-growth scale-up environment.
  • Leadership: A proven track record of leading design workstreams and mentoring or managing junior designers.
  • Complexity: Experience designing for complex user flows, business tools, or financial services.
  • Methodology: In-depth knowledge of User Experience and Product Design methodologies, with experience facilitating workshops and design sprints.
  • Craft: Strong UI skills and a portfolio that demonstrates outstanding craft and forward-looking interaction design
  • Technical Skills: Expert-level proficiency in Figma and advanced prototyping tools.
  • Agility: Comfortable working in an agile environment and navigating the ambiguity of a rapidly scaling business.
  • Data-Informed: A data-driven approach to design, with experience using tools like Looker, Heap, GA, or Hotjar to inform and validate decisions.
  • Education: A relevant Bachelor’s degree or equivalent professional experience.
