We are looking for several Project Managers, oriented to services and development of high-quality solutions integrating complex systems based on Microsoft technologies:

to be based in any of our Starion offices, like Madrid (Es), Rome area (IT) or Leiden (NL): 1 Senior position (at least 8 years of experience in the required domain) and 1 Intermediate position (at least 5 years of experience in the required domain).


The main objective will be to plan and carry out project management tasks, in the context of Agile Framework (Jira and Confluence for the definition of the Sprints). The team will have more than 10 people, including specific roles for technical leads, SW developers, and QA/Testing, working from different countries.


About the client and location

ITER ("The Way" in Latin) is one of the most ambitious energy projects in the world today, located in southern France, with 35 nations collaborating to build the world's largest system to prove the feasibility of fusion as a large-scale and carbon-free source of energy based on the same principle that powers our Sun and stars.

The service is defined with a mix of on-site and off-site positions, to cover in-house software design, development, testing and deployment of various in-house developed applications and central database containing all the ITER project related data (e.g. System Components, Manufacturing, Engineering Diagrams and Drawings).

The complexity of the several tools and types of data used by ITER requires a careful integration and management of the data, using Microsoft database web applications, BPM tools and broad range of technologies.


Tasks and activities

The scope of work will include:

  • Interface with the customer and technical leader to define the roadmap, review the epics, project status, and review of risks of the service and mitigation actions.
  • Interface with customer and project stakeholders to ensure the proper delivery matching the requirements and expected level of quality.
  • In charge of follow up of the next actions and planning, preparing and leading meetings as needed.
  • Create and Manage Sprint, following the Sprint executions.
  • Monitor and register the evolution of the KPIs, interfacing with the team and other stakeholders.
  • Prepare Release notes and follow Production deployment completion.
  • Create Change Advisory Board tickets before each deployment.
  • Writing project/product documentation, including reporting of progress and KPIs.
  • Preparing and carrying out presentations with the different stakeholders.


Skills and experience

The following skills and experience are mandatory:

  • University Degree or equivalent in Computer Science or a relevant field.
  • Training and certification of project management (e.g. PMP/Prince).
  • At least 8 years proven experience (for the senior role) in project or service management, in international projects ; or 5 years for the intermediate one.
  • At least 3 years proven experience in Software Development, in Microsoft environment and web applications and solutions.
  • Proven experience in complex systems, integrating commercial applications (e.g. use of APIs).
  • Proven experience in Agile environment, working with heterogeneous and international teams, estimating and defining the roadmap, epics, user stories, risks, KPIs.
  • Desire to work both autonomously and as part of a team, in an international multicultural environment.
  • Solution oriented mindset, with a customer focused communication skill.
  • Fluent in English, both written and spoken.

The following skills and experience would be highly desirable:

  • Certification Scrum Master or Product Owner.
  • Experience with REST, Micro-Services, Messaging Systems and similar architectures.
  • Experience with Angular, VB.Net, Asp.Net, C#, Docker, Kubernetes.
  • Experience in web applications and solutions with mobile devices (e.g. Flutter).
  • Experience in integrating API´s with some of the following applications: Primavera, COBRA, SmartPlant, Cleopatra, SAP, Matrix, CAD, CATIA.
