Job Description: As a Junior Developer-Data Scientist at Parknav, you will be integral to developing and optimizing our data models and analytical tools with a strong emphasis on software development and Java programming. This entry-level position offers a unique opportunity to work closely with experienced data scientists and engineers, gaining practical experience in a dynamic and innovative environment.
Responsibilities:
- Assist in the design, development, and implementation of data models and algorithms, with a focus on Java-based solutions.
- Develop and maintain data pipelines and workflows for efficient data processing using Java and BigQuery SQL.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to understand business requirements and deliver data-driven solutions through robust software development practices.
- Optimize and debug Java code to enhance the performance and scalability of our data processing systems.
- Communicate findings and insights effectively to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
- Stay current with the latest advancements in software development, data science, and machine learning.
Qualifications:
- Master’s or Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Data Science, or a related field.
- Strong foundational knowledge in Java programming and software development.
- Proficiency in data manipulation and querying using SQL, particularly BigQuery.
- Understanding of algorithms and their analysis.
- Basic knowledge of machine learning concepts and techniques.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team.
- Strong communication skills, both written and verbal.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Internship or project experience in software development or data science.
- Familiarity with other programming languages such as Python.
- Exposure to cloud platforms (e.g., AWS, GCP) and version control systems (e.g., Git).
- Knowledge and experience with Agile SCRUM methodologies.
