Are you ready to take your career to new heights with one of the world's most prestigious space agencies? On behalf of our client, the European Space Agency (ESA), we are looking for a talented and motivated TT&C Engineer to join our team at the renowned ESA-ESTEC site.


Your role:


As a TT&C Engineer, you will play a pivotal role in the success of ESA missions. Your responsibilities will include:


  • Concurrent Design Facility Participation: Engage in mission analysis and collaborative design efforts.
  • Technical Studies and Analysis: Explore cutting-edge techniques and technologies for Tracking, Telemetry, and Command (TT&C), and Payload Data Transmission (PDT) systems, focusing on modulation, error correction coding, adaptive modulation/coding, signal synchronization, digital signal processing, and RF/microwave technologies.
  • Development Support: Provide technical support for the development of TT&C and PDT communications equipment and subsystems.
  • System Assessment: Evaluate end-to-end TT&C and PDT communications systems, including system-level design, dynamic link budget assessment, and data flow analysis.
  • Encryption and Authentication: Assess related encryption and authentication functions.
  • Simulation and Testing: Conduct laboratory simulations and tests of TT&C/PDT systems and equipment.
  • Technical Documentation: Generate technical requirements and statements of work for related activities.
  • Standardization Activity Support: Contribute to European ECSS and CCSDS standardization efforts.
  • Project Support: Assist ESA projects from early conceptual phases through to launch preparation.


What we are looking for:

Do you have the skills and experience we're seeking? Check out the qualifications below:


  • Education: Master’s degree or PhD in Telecommunication or Electronic Engineering.
  • Experience: Minimum of 4 years of relevant work experience, with a strong background in satellite TT&C and PDT communications systems.
  • Technical Expertise: Proficiency in modern computer systems, programming languages, telecommunication standards (particularly TT&C and Telemetry), digital signal processing theory, and simulation tools.
  • Specialized Knowledge: Familiarity with TT&C transponders, Payload Data Transmitters (for Earth Observation), spacecraft sub-systems, and TT&C spaceflight hardware development. Knowledge of optical satellite telecommunication systems, and authentication and encryption schemes is a plus.
  • Eligibility: Must be eligible for security clearance and able to work in the EU.
  • Skills: Strong organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills. Proficient in English; knowledge of another EU language is an asset.
  • Team Environment: Comfortable working in a diverse and multinational team.
