About The Role
The HR Generalist 2 plays a vital role in supporting the human resources functions within Cook. Reporting directly to HR Management or Senior HR professionals, this position involves coordinating and administering a wide range of HR activities, including onboarding, employee relations, and special projects. The role requires a proactive individual capable of working independently with minimal supervision, demonstrating excellent communication, problem-solving, and organizational skills.
The HR Generalist 2 will work closely with various stakeholders across the organization to ensure compliance with employment laws, improve HR processes, and enhance the overall employee experience. Additionally, this position may focus on recruiting efforts and developing solutions to increase departmental efficiency, contributing to the company's strategic HR initiatives.
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent required
- Bachelor's degree in Human Resources or related field preferred
- 2 to 5 years of relevant HR experience
- PHR or SHRM-CP certification preferred
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, PowerPoint, Word)
- Project management experience preferred
- Excellent time management skills with a proven ability to meet deadlines
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Exceptional verbal and written communication skills
- Ability to handle multiple projects simultaneously with minimal supervision
- Knowledge of federal, state, and local employment laws and regulations
- Physical ability to lift up to 25 lbs. and work in a typical office environment
- Willingness to travel occasionally for overnight assignments
Responsibilities
- Collaborate with HR leadership to define project scope and objectives
- Input and maintain data accurately within HR systems
- Generate and analyze reports to track HR metrics and project progress
- Manage the full cycle of onboarding, including preparing employment offers and guiding new hires through orientation
- Address employment-related inquiries from candidates and employees, escalating sensitive issues to appropriate HR partners
- Maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information with integrity
- Partner with HR teams across different Cook locations to ensure consistency and best practices
- Stay updated on HR policies, procedures, and employment laws to ensure compliance
- Develop and implement initiatives to improve HR department efficiency and effectiveness
- Coordinate and facilitate meetings, training sessions, and workshops
- Mentor and train other HR Generalists as needed
- Support recruitment efforts by collaborating with leadership to identify candidate qualifications and competencies
- Ensure adherence to safety standards and company quality expectations
- Maintain accurate records and process reports as required
- Work independently to analyze issues and develop effective solutions
