Requirements:
10+ years of experience required
Requirement Analysis and Gathering
Collaborate with business stakeholders to understand data requirements and reporting needs.
Analyze business processes and translate them into technical specifications.
Data Modeling and Design
Design data models, including InfoObjects, DataStore Objects (DSOs), InfoCubes, and MultiProviders.
Create data flow designs, such as transformations, data sources, and data targets.
Data Extraction, Transformation, and Loading (ETL)
Develop and maintain ETL processes to extract data from various source systems (e.g., SAP ECC, CRM, third-party databases) and load it into the BW system.
Design and implement transformations and data cleansing processes to ensure data quality and integrity.
Query and Report Development
Develop BEx queries and reports based on business requirements.
Optimize queries for performance and user-friendliness.
Performance Tuning and Optimization
Monitor and improve the performance of data loads, queries, and overall BW system.
Implement best practices for data modeling, ETL processes, and report generation to enhance system performance.
Testing and Validation
Perform unit testing, system integration testing, and user acceptance testing (UAT) to ensure the accuracy and reliability of data and reports.
Troubleshoot and resolve issues related to data loads, transformations, and reports.
Documentation and Training
Document technical specifications, data models, ETL processes, and report definitions.
Provide training and support to end-users and other team members on BW functionalities and best practices.
Integration with Other SAP Modules
Work closely with other SAP module teams (e.g., SAP FI/CO, MM, SD) to ensure seamless integration and data consistency across the SAP landscape.
Develop and maintain data interfaces between BW and other SAP or non-SAP systems.
Project Management and Collaboration
Participate in project planning, timelines, and deliverables.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including business analysts, data architects, and other developers, to deliver data solutions that meet business needs.
Skills and Qualifications
Technical Skills
Proficiency in SAP BW data modeling and ETL processes.
Experience with SAP BW on HANA and SAP BW/4HANA.
Knowledge of ABAP programming for developing custom routines and transformations.
Familiarity with SAP Analytics Cloud (SAC).
Analytical and Problem-Solving Skills
Strong analytical skills to understand business requirements and translate them into technical solutions.
Ability to troubleshoot and resolve technical issues effectively.
Communication and Collaboration Skills
Excellent communication skills to interact with business stakeholders and technical teams.
Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment and manage multiple tasks and priorities.
Educational Background
Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
Relevant certifications in SAP BW or SAP HANA are advantageous.
