The Career Opportunity

In this role, you will be a core contributor to frontend and backend solutions for our customers’ needs and scaling product success in a fast-paced startup-like environment. You will have the opportunity to work on a project new to the market with the ability to be a key part of a large white space opportunity at PracticeTek. Our ideal candidate has strong communication skills to work with technical and non-technical staff and is driven to grow technically and stay on top of industry trends. Our tech stack includes Angular, JavaScript and TypeScript, C#, .NetCore, SQL, and we use Azure as our cloud provider.

The position is a remote position and can be worked anywhere in the USA but will need to be available during East Coast business hours for scrum meetings that include offshore developers and QA.

Areas of Accountability:

The Sr. Software Engineer has responsibility for the following outcomes:

  • Work with a remote offshore agile team through complex and highly impactful projects
  • Provide robust and stable solutions to solve product needs with a strong balance of quality and quantity
  • Proactively document and address technical debt and see engineering initiatives through to completion
  • Drive the technical vision and strategy, with a strong emphasis on overseeing its successful execution
  • Improve the platform’s performance and stability by reviewing operational metrics and driving better coding standards.
  • Perform code reviews on peers’ pull requests ensuring standards are met and code quality is high
  • Participate in daily standups, planning meetings, and help refine stories and understand requirements on use cases.
  • Cultivate strong partnerships with other interdependent engineering teams

Competencies for Success:

  • BA/BS Degree in Computer Science or related technical discipline, or related practical experience
  • 6+ years of experience working with modern web technologies.
  • 6+ years of experience in technology such as C#, JavaScript/TypeScript, SQL
  • Experience in designing, implementing, and maintaining complex integrations with third-party services via SOAP and REST APIs
  • Passion for product and code quality, and familiarity with current trends and best practices
  • Ability to review code and architecture for flaws (code-smell), to mentor team members in appropriate coding and design patterns
  • Experience with Agile methodologies such as Scrum and/or Kanban
  • Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines, common deployment models and infrastructure. (Azure DevOps preferred)
  • Experience with Observability Tools like DataDog for troubleshooting and performance improvement
  • Major plus if you have experience with Redis, NCache, Docker, Kubernetes, and Azure.

At PracticeTek we carefully consider a wide range of compensation factors to determine our offers of employment. This includes internal and external market factors as well as your individual experience and skills. These considerations can cause compensation to vary but we reasonably expect to pay between 60750-135000 for this position.
