As an IT Support Specialist, you will carry out our Mission of Love by providing technical support services for the Masonic Villages, MVNet customers, and other managed entities. In this position you will provide technical services for daily IT operations, maintain computer hardware, application support, mobile support, limited network support, communications support, security support, and other technical support.

Our IT Support Specialist Is Responsible For The Following

  • Provide technical support to customers, which could include troubleshooting hardware, software, mobile devices, communication equipment, printers, and other peripherals.
  • Assist customers requesting computer access support, troubleshoot accounts, user permissions, password resets, and other account requests. Work with other IT staff as needed, to assist with permissions and account setup.
  • Respond to support tickets and helpdesk support calls. If necessary, review request with IT Support Service Lead employee, other technical staff, and/or vendors to effectively resolve the request. Log calls, document comments and resolution in the support ticketing system.
  • Install and assist with hardware, software, system upgrades as needed, which could include working with other IT staff, vendors, and customers. Ensure proper security applications and software are installed on equipment prior to deployment. Complete required documentation and procedures for inventory. Remove old equipment and related peripherals to prepare for proper destruction, according to policy and procedures.
  • Work with requesting departments for move and relocation of all computer equipment. Ensure that data/phone/power lines are available prior to the move date and coordinate with network staff to configure ports or drop new lines if needed.
  • Monitor computer performance and conduct analysis for performance improvement.
  • Work with vendors to arrange warranty/non-warranty repairs for computer equipment repairs. Obtain authorization for non-warranty repairs. Arrange for use of loaner equipment, if available and necessary.
  • Create and update technical documentation and procedures to provide step by step instructions for other support staff. Create end user instructional documentation. Contribute to knowledge base procedures.
  • Assist and perform network troubleshooting with the IT Support Services Lead staff member, and possibly the network team, to determine the scope of the issue. Contact vendors or service providers, if necessary, to remedy the failure. Communicate network failures to the network team, and the customers affected.
  • Assist and monitor various cyber security applications and processes, as needed.
  • Work on more than one task at a time and manage work effectively by prioritizing own assignments, schedules, and meetings, resulting in timely completion of work.
  • Work on Projects and assignments with other IT staff and customers, as needed. This could include meetings, analysis work, documentation, testing, and other tasks for the project.
  • This position will participate in the rotating "on-call" schedule, travel to other facilities, work on other assignments as required, and may be asked to work overtime based on needs and assignments.

What You Have

  • Associates Degree with 2 years related experience, or 3 years of equivalent experience.
  • Two to four years of experience in personal computers and personal computer software packages.
  • Good knowledge of LAN/WAN/wireless networks, IPv4, TCP/IP, DNS and DHCP, Active Directory, Email, current Microsoft Office/O365 applications.
  • Excellent diagnostic, problem solving and analytical skills.
  • Excellent phone, language, verbal and written communication skills.
