Database Developer -Remote

We are looking for an experienced Database Developer to support an E.ON project focused on the implementation of Mass Billing Simulation (MBS) within PowerCloud.

The assignment aims to automate and ensure high data quality for accrual accounting (Bilanzielle Abgrenzung – BilA) processes.

This is a strict nearshore role: candidates must be based within the EU, outside Germany.

Responsibilities

• Analyze and evaluate the existing database landscape and advise stakeholders on technical solutions
• Design and develop a data model reflecting accounting and balancing logic
• Implement automated solutions for data provisioning and updates
• Perform data quality checks, validation, and quality assurance testing
• Prepare clear technical and data documentation
• Support User Acceptance Testing (UAT) and final quality approval

Requirements

• Degree in Computer Science, Business Informatics, or a comparable qualification
• Several years of experience in database development and management
• Strong expertise in SQL and database design
• Experience with Snowflake is highly preferred
• Proven experience implementing automated data solutions
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
• Consultant mindset with the ability to translate business requirements into technical solutions
• Fluent German communication skills

Nice to Have

• Experience in energy, utilities, or billing/accounting-related projects
• Exposure to PowerCloud or similar billing platforms
• Experience working in nearshore or distributed teams
