Job Description
Our client is seeking a Senior Data Engineer to design, build, and maintain scalable data pipelines and systems. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience working with large datasets, strong programming skills, and a deep understanding of data architecture. This role is critical to enabling data-driven decision-making across the organization. This is a fully remote position.
Senior Data Engineer’s Responsibilities And Duties
- Design, develop, and maintain scalable ETL/ELT pipelines for structured and unstructured data.
- Implement and optimize data models, data warehouses, and data lakes.
- Collaborate with data scientists, analysts, and business stakeholders to understand requirements and deliver solutions.
- Ensure data quality, integrity, and security across multiple platforms.
- Monitor, troubleshoot, and improve existing data systems for performance and reliability.
- Mentor junior engineers and provide technical leadership within the data engineering team.
- Stay current with emerging trends and technologies in data engineering and analytics.
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field.
- 5+ years of professional experience in data engineering or a related role.
- Proficiency in SQL and at least one programming language such as Python, Java, or Scala.
- Experience with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, or GCP) and big data technologies (Spark, Hadoop, Kafka, etc.).
- Strong understanding of data warehousing, data modeling, and ETL/ELT processes.
- Familiarity with data governance, security, and compliance best practices.
- Excellent problem-solving, analytical, and communication skills.
