Role Overview
In KPMG's Data & Analytics team, you will be joining a collaborative and energetic team. Our team covers a broad range of data Capabilities including Data Visualisation, Data Management, Data Migration, Data Architecture, Data Integration and Data Modelling.
We are looking for a proactive individual who is passionate about data, working with clients, has a thirst to learn and is excited to support us in growing our team.
Key Responsibilities
- As a Data Architect, you will translate clients' vision into data architecture design;
- Understand the current state process of the clients and bring it to future state improvement and solution;
- Contribute to use case development, e.g. workshop to gather and validate business requirements;
- Translate business requirements into data architecture design, guide and direct the design by working closely with a range of stakeholders including the rest of the architecture team, external developers, data consumers, data providers, and business users;
- Model and design the application data structure, storage, and integration;
- Develop, construct and test data architectures such as databases and large-scale processing solutions;
- Create ETLs/ELTs to handle data from various data sources and various formats, e.g. Batch ETL and real-time / near real-time Streaming ETL;
- Provide advice on the data solutions & development tools selection (cloud / hybrid cloud);
- Document and write technical specifications for the requirements of the solution;
- Design data platform allowing managed growth of the data model to minimize risk and cost of change;
- Plan, design and lead the implementation of a large-scale data platform;
- Oversee transformation and validation that apply complex data aggregation and calculation in different programming languages depending on the project scope and requirements;
- Analyse new data sources and work with stakeholders to understand the impact of integrating new data into existing pipelines and models;
- Bridge the gap between business requirements and ETL logic by troubleshooting data discrepancies and implementing scalable solutions;
- Develop go-to-market strategies with team leaders and expand team capabilities.
Experience & Background
- Bachelor's degree (or higher) in computer science or related field;
- Experience in Cloud data architecture, like building cloud scalable and high-performance data lake/data warehouse solutions, such as Azure, AWS and GCP;
- Experience with relational databases and data warehouses such as SQL Server, Oracle and Teradata;
- Strong technical understanding of data modelling, design and architecture principles and techniques across master data, transaction data and derived/analytic data;
- Knowledge of market trends and emerging technologies such Internet of Things (IoT), Artificial Intelligence, Machine Learning, Data Streaming (Kafka) etc would be a bonus;
- High level of business acumen and strong problem-solving skill;
- Excellent multitasking skills and task management strategies;
- Ability to complete milestones and work toward multiple deadlines simultaneously;
- Confident in decision making and the ability to explain processes or choices as needed;
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
