Microsoft Solution Architect is responsible for owning the overall architecture of data and AI solutions, ensuring the chosen Microsoft technologies align tightly with client business goals and constraints. This role shapes reference architectures, selects appropriate services across Azure, Fabric, Databricks, and Cosmos DB, and ensures all components fit into a coherent, supportable, and cost‑effective design.

This architect collaborates with business stakeholders to run requirement workshops, feasibility assessments, and solution mapping sessions, translating needs into well‑defined technical blueprints and backlogs. The role works closely with Data Engineers, AI Architects, Product Managers, and Security Engineers to validate that designs are implementable, secure, and compliant, and that they support analytics, reporting, and AI workloads through tools like Power BI and paginated reports.

Key tools include Azure, Microsoft Fabric, Claude, Azure SQL, Cosmos DB, Databricks, Logic Apps, and API Management, with a strong emphasis on hybrid architectures where required. Performance is measured by solution fit, scalability, availability, and uptime, as well as the ability to future‑proof the architecture and minimize technical debt. Day‑to‑day work focuses on leading design sessions, refining requirements, performing feasibility studies, mapping requirements to the tech stack, and creating and maintaining execution backlogs for engineering teams.
