Banyan AI is building the next-generation automation engine — a text-to-API and text-to-workflow platform that lets companies integrate any API and build automated workflows in minutes. We are rapidly expanding our connector ecosystem and are looking for motivated junior developers to help us scale.

Role Overview

As a Junior API Integration Engineer, you will be responsible for adding new API connectors to Banyan AI’s automation platform. The task is relatively lightweight but requires structured thinking and attention to detail. You'll work with modern APIs, test endpoints, validate responses, and create small integration apps (including OAuth2 setups when needed).

This role is fully remote and ideal for a junior developer looking to grow in the API/automation ecosystem.

What You Will Do

• Integrate new APIs into Banyan AI using our internal connector framework
• Review API documentation and identify available endpoints, authentication types, and data models
• Set up OAuth2 applications when required (client ID, client secret, scopes, callback URLs)
• Test API methods (GET, POST, PATCH, DELETE), check responses, handle errors
• Validate data structures and ensure endpoints behave consistently
• Use internal no-code/API integration tools to configure and verify connectors
• Perform light debugging and troubleshoot integration issues
• Document each connector clearly for internal use
• Work closely with our CTO and automation engine team

Requirements

Must-Have

• 1–2 years of hands-on experience with APIs (REST, JSON, HTTP methods)
• Basic experience with no-code/low-code API integration tools (e.g., n8n, Zapier, Make, Pipedream, Retool, etc.)
• Ability to read and interpret API documentation
• Understanding of authentication methods (API keys, Basic Auth, OAuth2)
• Familiarity with Postman, Insomnia, or similar tools
• Solid understanding of basic web technologies (HTTP, web services, endpoints, headers)
• Good debugging mindset and ability to test endpoints systematically
• Reliable communication and self-management in a remote environment

Nice-to-Have

• Experience building simple API backend scripts
• Basic knowledge of Lua (our internal logic layer uses Lua for micro-scripts)
• Familiarity with OpenAPI/Swagger
• Understanding of rate limits, pagination, and error handling best practices
• Experience with SaaS products or automation platforms
