About the Role:

Location: Georgetown, KY (Onsite | Long-Term Contract)

The primary responsibility of this role is to develop and implement innovative activities improving manufacturing competitiveness.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

1. Design automation machine components

2. Develop control systems

3. Develop PLC programs and embedded software

4. Develop, test, and deploy robots, vision systems, and AI/ML solutions

5. Lead and manage projects from concept to large-scale launch in production by creating schedules, establishing punch lists, and meeting established due dates and milestones.

6. Develop new technological solutions and test them in a manufacturing setting

7. Use strong communication skills to create proposals, negotiate roles and responsibilities, and gain approvals.

8. Develop equipment procurement scopes of work and ensure specification is met from planning to production usage.

9. Follow Toyota's policies and procedures to ensure equipment and process safety.

10. Present reports and updates to stakeholders, management, and executives

11. Communicate with stakeholders, keep them informed and engaged, and resolve issues

12. Document the project process and maintain project documentation

13. Work cross-functionally with different teams and organizations

Requirements:

1. Bachelor's degree (or above) in engineering (Controls, Mechatronics, Computer Engineering, Robotics, AI/ML)

2. Proven experience in development of innovative projects in a manufacturing environment

3. Proven experience with project management including writing detailed scopes of work, creating schedules, managing vendors/contractors, and providing regular status updates

4. Proven use of computer aided design and manufacturing ( CAD/CAM) engineering software techniques

5. Ability to analyze and interpret engineering drawings

6. Proven demonstration of installing manufacturing equipment

7. Proficiency with Excel, PowerPoint, and Teams

8. Willingness and ability to travel, domestically and internationally as required (~25%).

9. Willingness to work overtime (~20%) as required.

10. Evidence of AI/ML deployed solutions

11. Experience in Robotics, including operation, teaching, maintenance, and safety standards

12. Evidence of deployed machine vision systems

Added Bonus:

1. Masters or PHD degree in robotics or mechatronics discipline

2. Proven experience with JSA/JHA

3. Experience in construction management

4. Experience in automotive manufacturing plant

5. Project Management certification

6. Proven experience with securing approval of funding for projects

7. Familiarity with SAE/ISO, NFPA/NEC, and UL standards

8. Proven experience with conducting equipment risk assessments

9. Experience deploying and troubleshooting vision systems

10. Experience with programming Toyopuc PLCs

11. Experience integrating the following products: Allen-Bradley, Rockwell, Siemens, Client, Schneider, Keyence, Cognex, IR Vision, Mitsubishi, IFM, CODESYS, Ignition, MIR, MATLAB, Visual studio, Otto, ABB, Fanuc, Kawasaki, Universal Robots, Kepware

12. Sales engineering experience
