Senior Roblox Developer (Contract)

GOODE GOODE Studios (pronounced good-ē good-ē) is seeking a Roblox Developer to join our team on a contract basis to help build and expand Backpack Adventure, our nature-themed Roblox experience. This is a hands-on role for a developer with a track record of creating engaging Roblox experiences and writing clean, efficient code in Lua.

Responsibilities

• Develop and implement gameplay features, systems, and mechanics in Roblox Studio
• Build and maintain UI components using Roact
• Collaborate with the producer, 2D/3D designers, and other developers to bring creative concepts to life
• Debug, optimize, and refine code to ensure a smooth player experience
• Use Bitbucket for version control and collaborative development
• Track work progress in ClickUp and communicate via Discord as needed
• Join scheduled team meetings ready to share and problem-solve
• Stay up-to-date with Roblox platform updates, best practices, and community standards

Requirements

• Comfortable communicating in English, both written and spoken (all nationalities are encouraged to apply)
• Proven experience developing and publishing Roblox experiences
• Strong proficiency in Lua and Roblox Studio
• Familiarity with version control (GitHub, Bitbucket, or similar)
• Strong problem-solving and debugging skills
• Ability to work independently and communicate effectively in a distributed team 
• Most importantly: a collaborative spirit (yes, being nice to work with really matters)

Nice to Have

• Experience with Roact for UI development
• Familiarity with agile workflows and collaborative project management tools
• Experience with educational or nature-themed games
• A love of the outdoors

Contract Details

• Part-time, project-based contract
• Remote, flexible hours 
• Hourly rate, commensurate with experience
