About The Role

We are currently seeking an experienced Network Engineer to join a prominent organization undergoing a significant data centre transformation. This role is pivotal in supporting the consolidation of physical network infrastructure across multiple data centres, ensuring seamless operations during the transition. The position is offered on a 12-month fixed-term contract and is fully remote, operating during night shifts to align with the company's operational requirements. The successful candidate will bring deep Cisco expertise, a proactive approach, and the ability to work independently in a high-pressure environment.

Qualifications

The ideal candidate will possess proven experience as a Network Engineer within large-scale environments, demonstrating a solid understanding of enterprise network systems. Expertise in Cisco networking technologies such as IOS, NX-OS, ASA, and Meraki is essential. Candidates should have a strong grasp of routing protocols including BGP, OSPF, and EIGRP, as well as VLANs and VPN configurations. Hands-on experience with physical network migrations and data centre operations is highly desirable. Additionally, the candidate must be comfortable working autonomously during night shifts, demonstrating excellent problem-solving, communication, and documentation skills to ensure operational excellence.

Responsibilities

• Lead the consolidation and optimization of network infrastructure across multiple enterprise data centres, ensuring minimal disruption and downtime.
• Configure, maintain, and troubleshoot Cisco routers, switches, firewalls, and related network devices to ensure high availability and performance.
• Monitor network performance metrics, diagnose issues proactively, and implement timely resolutions during night shifts.
• Collaborate effectively with remote teams, including data centre staff and IT operations, to facilitate seamless transitions and operational continuity.
• Maintain comprehensive documentation of network configurations, changes, and procedures to support ongoing operational excellence and knowledge sharing.
• Assist in planning and executing physical network migrations, ensuring adherence to best practices and safety standards.
• Participate in incident response and escalation procedures, providing expert guidance during network-related issues.
