About The Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Network Engineer with expertise in IP networks to join our dynamic team remotely. In this pivotal role, you will be responsible for managing and resolving escalated issues within our IP core network, ensuring optimal performance and stability. You will work within a multi-vendor environment, including Cisco, Juniper, Nokia, and Adtran, providing technical leadership and hands-on support for complex network challenges. The role offers a unique blend of technical troubleshooting, project management, and strategic planning, focusing on network migrations, upgrades, and automation initiatives to enhance efficiency.

Qualifications

The ideal candidate will possess a minimum of CCNP or JNCIP certification, with advanced certifications such as CCIE or JNCIE highly desirable. Proven experience working within a service provider environment is essential, particularly in roles involving routing, switching, MPLS, BGP, OSPF, and general IP troubleshooting. A solid understanding of high-level and low-level design (HLD and LLD) documentation is required, although this role is not architectural but technical leadership-focused. Strong communication skills and the ability to represent the company in discussions with vendors and suppliers are also critical. Candidates should demonstrate a proactive approach to network resilience, capacity planning, and automation.

Responsibilities

• Manage and resolve escalated network issues related to the IP core network, ensuring minimal downtime and high service availability.
• Lead and participate in network migration projects, upgrades, and integration activities, working closely with cross-functional teams.
• Implement and promote automation strategies to improve network efficiency and reduce manual intervention.
• Contribute to the design, testing, and validation of network resilience measures, ensuring robust and scalable infrastructure.
• Monitor network performance, capacity, and scalability, providing recommendations for growth and optimization.
• Engage with external vendors such as Cisco, Juniper, Nokia, and Adtran, representing the company in technical discussions and negotiations.
• Document network configurations, issues, and resolutions in accordance with best practices and compliance standards.
• Provide technical guidance and mentorship to junior engineers, fostering a collaborative and knowledgeable team environment.
• Participate in on-call rotations and incident response activities as needed, maintaining a high level of operational readiness.
