POSITION OVERVIEW

We are seeking an experienced Power BI and Data Warehouse Developer to join the WMO’s development team. This fully remote role within the EU offers an opportunity to work on high-impact, global meteorological data systems using cutting-edge Microsoft technologies.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

Data Warehouse Development

• Design, create, and update DW datasets and schemas to support new business requirements
• Enhance existing DW and BI architecture, aligning with enterprise data governance standards
• Develop and deploy datasets, data models, and transformations in Azure SQL and Synapse
• Define integration patterns between Azure SQL Database, Power BI, and other Microsoft 365 services

Power BI Development

• Design, develop, and maintain Power BI reports and dashboards for management decision-making
• Configure data access, workspace security, and role-based permissions
• Build and refine Power BI reports through end-user feedback cycles
• Implement data refresh automation and monitoring workflows

System Integration

• Enable secure data integration between Oracle Fusion and other enterprise systems
• Integrate and visualize enterprise data within ERP environments
• Utilize Microsoft 365 integration with BI tools (SharePoint, Teams)

Technical Documentation & Support

• Prepare conceptual and technical designs, including mockups and wireframes
• Maintain and version control design, code, and deployment artifacts
• Prepare release documentation for production deployments
• Develop user guides, knowledge base articles, and training materials

Testing & Quality Assurance

• Conduct unit and integration testing, and support UAT
• Provide post-deployment support and resolve production issues

Knowledge Transfer

• Deliver training sessions and knowledge transfer to internal IT and support teams

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS

Education & Experience

• University degree in IT, Computer Science, or related field
• 7+ years of professional IT experience
• 5+ years of progressive experience in application design and development

Technical Skills – Microsoft Ecosystem

• Proven experience in Microsoft Power BI, Azure SQL Database, Synapse Analytics
• Strong skills in data modeling, DAX, and workspace management
• Knowledge of Microsoft 365 integration with BI tools

Data Management

• Experience with data governance, security, and role-based access
• Experience with automation, PowerShell scripting, and refresh scheduling
• Familiarity with version control and testing practices for BI solutions

Enterprise Systems

• Experience integrating and visualizing data from ERP systems (preferably Oracle Fusion)
• Familiarity with DevOps and CI/CD for BI environments

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

• Microsoft certifications in Power BI, Azure SQL, Synapse, or SharePoint
• Prior experience within United Nations or international organizations
• Experience working in multicultural, distributed teams

LANGUAGE REQUIREMENTS

• Fluent English (written and spoken) – mandatory
