Job Description
Title: Product Manager
Reports to: EVP, Product and Payment
Location: This is a remote role
About the role:
As a Product Manager for InsurePay, you’ll own outcomes for our pay-as-you-go (PayGo) billing and related payment experiences. You will sit at the intersection of product and engineering, driving roadmap, defining requirements, and shipping high-quality features that improve accuracy, compliance, and time-to-value. You will work cross functionally to ensure our payments operations, payroll-partner integrations, and carrier systems are working efficiently.
As the subject manager expert of our payment platforms, you’ll work hands-on with APIs, data flows, and rules engines that power premium calculation, collection, disbursement, and reconciliation, with deep attention to WC-specific requirements. You must enjoy working in a dynamic and fast-paced environment where each day is different from the last. If you are ready to take on a new challenge and be truly part of modernizing an industry, this is the role for you!
You’re excited about this opportunity because you will ....
- Help drive product strategy and roadmap for PayGo workers’ comp billing and payments, focusing on accuracy, cash flow predictability, and operational efficiency for carriers, agents, and policyholders
- Lead discovery with carriers, payroll providers, agents, and internal stakeholders; translate insights into clear PRDs, acceptance criteria, and user stories
- Partner with engineering to design and deliver API-first capabilities across payroll data ingestion, premium calculation, debiting/disbursements, and reconciliation—balancing reliability, performance, and scale
- Drive payroll data connectivity strategies (direct, aggregator, and services-based) to expand coverage and resiliency; measure adoption and data quality over time
- Collaborate on integrations with carrier core platforms (e.g., Guidewire, Duck Creek) to ensure frictionless workflows and accurate downstream accounting and reporting
- Specify payment workflows (ACH, card, disbursements), exception handling, and reconciliation rules; reduce failure rates and write-offs while improving straight‑through processing
- Ensure compliance and auditability requirements are captured in product designs, with strong alignment to InfoSec and enterprise controls
- Run effective Agile rituals with your squad; maintain a healthy backlog; sequence delivery to maximize impact while unblocking go-to-market and onboarding
We’re excited about you because you have ….
- 5+ years in product management for B2B SaaS or payments
- At least 2+ years directly tied to insurance payments, workers’ comp, payroll data, or adjacency (e.g., premium billing, payables, reconciliation)
- A demonstrated experience with API products, data integrations, and event-driven architectures; you’re comfortable reading API docs, mapping data flows, and discussing design trade-offs
- A strong fluency in the workers’ comp/payroll ecosystem (payroll providers, policy/admin systems, audit dynamics, midterm endorsements, class codes, exposure reporting).
- Hands-on product delivery in payments or fintech (e.g., ACH orchestration, debits/disbursements, NACHA file flows, payment exceptions) and reconciliation/ledger alignment
- A history utilizing AI to increase work productivity and processes
- A data-driven mindset: defining metrics, instrumenting funnels, and running experiments to improve adoption, quality, and efficiency.
- Exceptional written requirements, structured thinking, and stakeholder communication; credibility with engineers and clarity with customers.
- Experience in regulated or enterprise environments with security, compliance, and auditability requirements
- The ability to be a self-starter and a team player
- Bachelor’s degree
Nice to Have ...
- Experience integrating with payroll providers/aggregators and managing their constraints (rate limits, authentication, data quality)
- Familiarity with Guidewire/Duck Creek workflows or carrier accounting and reporting interfaces
- Background in insurance payments, billing, or premium audit; experience with ETL/ELT pipelines or rules engines
Benefits
- Competitive compensation
- Generous vacation policy
- Full medical, dental, and vision packages
- 100% employer paid Life and AD&D Insurance
- Optional LTD and STD coverage
- 100% employer paid employee assistance program
- Paid Parental Leave
- 401(k) with company match
