Lead QA Automation Engineer (SDET)

6-Month Contract-to-Hire | 100% Remote (U.S. only)

We’re looking for a hands-on SDET / QA Automation Engineer with strong coding skills and experience building and maintaining automated test frameworks. The ideal candidate will be highly technical, detail-oriented, and capable of ensuring software quality through automation across multiple layers of the stack.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain automated test frameworks and scripts using Cypress and Python.
• Integrate automated tests into CI/CD pipelines (GitLab) and execute in AWS environments.
• Collaborate with developers and product teams to define test strategies, identify defects early, and improve code quality.
• Perform limited manual testing when necessary to validate automation coverage.
• Work within Agile/Scrum environments and contribute to process improvements.

Required Skills & Experience

• 5–7+ years of hands-on QA automation / SDET experience.
• Strong proficiency with Cypress and Python (daily coding required).
• Experience with AWS, GitLab, and CI/CD pipeline integration.
• Familiarity with Mocha, Go, Snowflake, MongoDB, and SQL.
• Strong analytical and communication skills, with a focus on code quality and reliability.

Nice-to-Have

• Healthcare industry experience.
• ISTQB certification or equivalent.
