Client: Nationwide Law Firm (US-based)

About the Role

We’re seeking a skilled Data Engineer/ SysAdmin Hybrid to join a well-established US-based law firm’s IT infrastructure team. This role combines development and systems administration responsibilities, supporting and enhancing business reporting systems critical to daily operations.

The ideal candidate will be responsible for building, maintaining, and troubleshooting business-level reports — ensuring reliable, accurate, and timely data delivery across the organization.

Key Responsibilities

  • Design, develop, and maintain SSRS and Power BI reports according to business requirements.
  • Manage and optimize SQL Server databases and queries to support reporting needs.
  • Respond to “break/fix” tickets for reporting issues via the helpdesk system.
  • Ensure all reports and dashboards remain accurate, efficient, and aligned with business logic.
  • Collaborate with stakeholders to gather reporting requirements and deliver actionable insights.
  • Gain a working knowledge of data source tools (Coyote, SmartTime, etc.) and integrate them effectively into reporting pipelines.
  • Participate in ongoing process improvements within a well-established infrastructure environment.

Qualifications

  • 5+ years of experience in SQL development, reporting, or a similar role.
  • Strong proficiency in SSRS, Power BI, and SQL Server.
  • Solid understanding of database structures, relationships, and optimization.
  • Experience with system administration or related technical operations (hybrid DevOps-style experience a plus).
  • Excellent troubleshooting and analytical skills with a proactive, problem-solving mindset.
  • Quick learner with the ability to understand new systems and data flows efficiently.
  • Strong communication skills and ability to work independently in a remote environment.

Nice to Have

  • Experience with Coyote, SmartTime, or similar time-tracking or case-management systems.
  • Prior experience supporting law firms or professional services organizations.
  • Familiarity with helpdesk ticketing systems.

What We Offer

  • 100% remote role working directly with a US-based client.
  • Work within a well-established infrastructure with proper systems and processes in place.
  • Opportunity to collaborate with a supportive, professional team.
  • Competitive compensation based on experience and skillset.

Schedule

  • Must be available to work US Eastern Standard Time (EST) hours.
