About The Role

This organization offers a range of products and services aimed at creating positive social change through innovative technological solutions.

We are seeking a highly autonomous DevOps Engineer to join the team on a fully remote basis. In this role, you will take ownership of the company's cloud infrastructure, specifically AWS, to ensure optimal performance, security, and scalability. Your expertise will help streamline infrastructure management, reduce operational costs, and support the organization’s mission-driven objectives. Qualifications

• Extensive experience managing AWS infrastructure, particularly for applications with high data volume and complexity.
• Proven track record working with open-source software systems and databases.
• Hands-on experience with infrastructure-as-code tools such as Terraform and container orchestration platforms like Kubernetes.
• Strong understanding of security best practices and scalable cloud architecture.
• Ability to take end-to-end ownership of complex projects with minimal supervision.
• Excellent communication skills, capable of collaborating effectively with developers, leadership, and external partners.
• Business awareness to balance technical solutions with operational and cost considerations.
  
  

Responsibilities

• Lead the design, development, and management of the organization’s AWS infrastructure, ensuring it is optimized for performance, security, and cost-efficiency.
• Identify and eliminate legacy cloud resources, streamlining infrastructure and reducing unnecessary costs.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to implement AWS FinOps principles, maximizing financial efficiency.
• Automate infrastructure provisioning and management using Terraform, Kubernetes, and other relevant tools.
• Support security and compliance initiatives, including conducting AWS Well-Architected reviews and implementing best practices.
• Monitor system performance, troubleshoot issues, and implement improvements to ensure reliability and scalability.
• Stay updated on emerging cloud technologies and industry trends to continuously enhance infrastructure capabilities.
