Role Description
You will design, build, and ship production AI systems across multiple modalities and use cases. Projects may include conversational AI for voice and chat, knowledge retrieval and decision support, document understanding, predictive models, and secure automation that integrates with business systems. You will work cross-functionally with engineering, product, ops, and design to deliver measurable outcomes, including low-latency user experiences, accurate recognition and generation, strong observability, and responsible data practices. Where relevant, you will integrate with calendars, CRMs, web portals, secure APIs, and telephony providers using real-time media streaming.
You will also help uphold compliance and accessibility standards across releases, including privacy, consent, and readiness for regulated workflows, with clear human handoff when needed.
Qualifications
- Strong foundation in pattern recognition, neural networks, and modern ML.
- Experience with NLP or speech technologies, and familiarity with LLMs, retrieval, and evaluation.
- Solid software engineering skills in one or more languages used for AI systems, plus production experience with APIs, data pipelines, and cloud deployment.
- Comfortable integrating with business systems such as calendars, CRMs, web portals, and knowledge bases using secure data flows.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities, with the ability to work independently in a remote setup.
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field is preferred.
Experience We Value
- You have shipped customer-facing products and can point to your impact.
- Experience with real-time systems or voice, and the ability to learn new tools quickly.
- Familiarity with any of the following is a plus: TTS, SSML, ASR, barge-in, sentiment or conversation analytics, and telephony like SIP, Twilio, Amazon Connect, or WebRTC.
- Strength in API design and privacy-aware data flows across enterprise systems.
- Collaborative approach with engineers, designers, and operations, guided by data.
Location and Working Model
Fully remote, with periodic availability to collaborate across AEST windows.
