Backend Developer - Remote, Spain

We are currently seeking a Backend Developer to join our RatedPower team, working either from our Madrid office or remotely. This is a great opportunity to be part of a fast-growing company delivering industry-leading solutions in the energy sector. Join us in driving the energy transition by building intelligent connections across the energy value chain, with a strategic focus on expanding our offerings in Power & Renewables.

Performance Objectives

• Develop new features and services using the Spring Boot framework.
• Manage and maintain relational (MySQL) and non-relational (MongoDB) databases, ensuring data integrity and accessibility.
• Improve and maintain CI/CD pipelines.
• Support the administration and maintenance of cloud infrastructure, with guidance from senior engineers.
• Integrate and work with messaging systems such as RabbitMQ and Kafka.
• Collaborate with product, frontend, and cybersecurity teams to address technical and business challenges.
  
  

Competitive Candidate Profile

• Solid experience with Java (+3y) and object-oriented programming.
• Familiarity with AWS cloud services and infrastructure.
• Hands-on experience with MySQL and MongoDB.
• Strong motivation to drive impact through product and infrastructure improvements.
• Proactive mindset, strong teamwork skills, and ability to learn quickly.
• Experience working in agile teams with clear separation between frontend and backend responsibilities.
  
  

Nice to Have

• Experience with Python for scripting, automation, or backend services.
• Knowledge of tools like Docker and Kubernetes, Helm, or observability stacks (e.g., Prometheus, Grafana).
• Strong communication skills and a collaborative mindset.
