Overview
Alera Group is currently seeking an
Information Security Engineer to join our growing Information Security team. This hands-on technical role is responsible for assisting with the implementation, support, and ongoing management of Alera Group's security technologies and practices. Working under the guidance of senior team members, this engineer will help monitor systems, respond to alerts, and execute routine security tasks to protect Alera Group's systems, data, and users. The ideal candidate is eager to grow, highly detail-oriented, and passionate about cybersecurity.

Responsibilities
- Monitor security tools and alerts, triage incidents, and support the resolution of phishing, endpoint, and access-related issues.
- Assist with routine vulnerability scans, documentation, and coordination of remediation efforts.
- Support identity and access management processes, including provisioning, deprovisioning, and access reviews.
- Apply and maintain endpoint security policies and configurations in partnership with IT teams.
- Maintain up-to-date documentation, support audits, and contribute to security awareness and training efforts.
Qualifications
- Associate or bachelor’s degree in Cybersecurity, Computer Science, or related field; Security+ or entry-level certification preferred or in progress.
- 2-4 years of IT or security experience (help desk, systems admin, etc.) with a strong desire to grow in cybersecurity.
- Foundational knowledge of network security, authentication, and endpoint protection concepts.
- Familiarity with common security tools (e.g., antivirus, email filtering, or SIEM) and platforms like Microsoft Defender, Sentinel, or Qualys.
- Strong communication and organizational skills, with attention to detail and a proactive learning mindset.

Where required (including remote) - Salary range is $85K to 110K per year.
