Job Description
Wolt’s search plays a key role in our customer shopping experience by enabling them to find their next order amongst Wolt’s large assortment. The Search Relevance team owns the retrieval and ranking of restaurants, stores, dishes and items in the Wolt’s search result pages across all the company surfaces and touchpoints.
As a Search Backend Engineer in Wolt’s
Search Relevance team you will:
- Work at Wolt’s scale: Wolt operates in 25 different markets with as many languages and millions of customers;
- Be part of a cross-disciplinary team with Data Scientists, Software Engineers and Analysts to provide solutions to customer problems with a direct impact on the company’s business and customer KPIs;
- Contribute to product initiatives aimed at improving our ML solutions.
- Monitor, maintain and troubleshoot our team in-house search engine built on top of Lucene;
📍This role can be based in one of our tech hubs in Berlin, Helsinki, or Stockholm, or you can work remotely anywhere in Finland, Sweden, Germany and Estonia. Read more about our remote setup here. If you live outside of these countries - not to worry! We provide relocation support to help you make your way to Finland, Germany or Sweden.
Our humble expectations
- 5+ years Experience with building Search Engine systems, using Elasticsearch, Solr or Lucene.
- Ability to design large-scale resilient distributed microservices on a cloud infrastructure (preferably Kubernetes and AWS).
- Experience working with Python, Kotlin is a plus.
- Advocating for agile processes, operational excellence, and coding best practices such as clean code, readability, and test-driven development.
- Experience working with ML systems is a plus.
