Automation Engineer
100% Remote (From Ireland)
About the Role
We are recruiting an Automation Engineer to help design, build, and maintain automated systems that support a data-driven FinTech platform. You will work on a wide range of automation initiatives from CI/CD pipelines to data and infrastructure workflows, to improve system reliability, speed, and scalability.
You will collaborate with engineering and data teams to deliver efficient, high-quality releases and ensure that complex data and software processes run seamlessly. The ideal candidate has a background in software development or DevOps, a strong understanding of automation frameworks, and an interest in how automation drives innovation in financial technology.
Requirements
- Proven experience in software automation, DevOps, QA or infrastructure engineering
- Strong knowledge of Python or another scripting language (e.g., Bash, PowerShell)
- Experience building CI/CD pipelines using tools like GitHub Actions, Jenkins, or GitLab CI
- Familiarity with cloud environments (AWS preferred, EC2, Lambda, S3, Batch)
- Experience with containerisation and orchestration (Docker, Kubernetes)
- Exposure to data pipelines or ETL automation a strong advantage
- Understanding of testing frameworks and automated deployment practices
- Excellent problem-solving, debugging, and communication skills
- Ability to work independently in a fully remote environment
Key Responsibilities
- Design, develop, and maintain automation scripts, pipelines, and tooling
- Improve deployment and release processes to support fast, stable product delivery
- Collaborate with software and data engineering teams to integrate automation into product workflows
- Identify manual or repetitive processes and build solutions to eliminate them
- Monitor, test, and enhance automation systems for reliability and performance
- Support continuous improvement and innovation across the engineering organisation
