About The Role
We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Software Engineer to join our Enterprise Software Engineering team. This role offers an exciting opportunity to work across multiple locations, including Berkeley, Missouri; North Charleston, South Carolina; and Huntington Beach, California. The successful candidate will support Boeing Research & Technology (BR&T), contributing to the development of next-generation software solutions that drive innovation in aerospace and autonomous systems. You will collaborate with a team of world-class scientists, researchers, and engineers to develop advanced training systems, production analytics, automation, and manufacturing technologies. Your expertise will be pivotal in creating software that addresses some of Boeing's most complex challenges, impacting commercial, defense, space, and global service sectors.
Qualifications
The ideal candidate will possess a combination of education and extensive experience in software engineering. A bachelor’s, master’s, or doctorate degree in Computer Engineering, Software Engineering, Computer Science, Mathematics, Physics, or a related technical field is preferred. Candidates should have a minimum of 9 years of relevant work experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience. U.S. citizenship is required, along with the ability to obtain a U.S. Secret Security Clearance post-hire. Experience with cloud computing platforms such as AWS or Cloud Foundry/Tanzu, web development technologies like ASP.NET MVC, Node.js, React.js, and proficiency with DevOps tools including GitLab, Jenkins, and Docker containers are highly desirable. Strong leadership skills, with at least 2 years in a supervisory role, are essential, along with a solid understanding of Agile methodologies.
Responsibilities
- Lead activities to develop, document, and maintain software architectures, requirements, algorithms, interfaces, and design specifications for complex systems.
- Drive the development of code and integration of software components to deliver fully functional systems aligned with project goals.
- Create comprehensive software verification plans, execute testing procedures, and document results to ensure compliance with system requirements.
- Provide technical leadership for software projects, including managing relationships with software suppliers and overseeing deliverables.
- Lead the selection, tailoring, and deployment of development processes, tools, and metrics to optimize team performance.
- Plan, execute, and document research and development initiatives, ensuring alignment with strategic objectives.
- Serve as a subject matter expert in software domains, system-specific issues, industry standards, and regulatory compliance.
- Monitor and evaluate team and supplier performance to ensure adherence to project timelines, quality standards, and industry best practices.
