About The Role
The position of Finance Data Analyst is a vital role within the local authority in Havering, designed to support financial data management and analysis. The successful candidate will be responsible for manipulating large datasets, developing data review processes, and creating insightful dashboards and reports primarily using Power BI. This role offers an exciting opportunity to contribute to the financial oversight and decision-making processes of the council, ensuring data accuracy, integrity, and actionable insights. The position is fully remote, with monthly in-person meetings in Havering, providing flexibility while maintaining essential stakeholder engagement. The role is initially contracted for three months, with potential for extension based on performance and organizational needs.
Qualifications
The ideal candidate will possess strong analytical skills with a proven ability to manipulate and interpret large data sets. Proficiency in Power BI is essential, along with advanced skills in Excel for data analysis and reporting. Basic financial acumen is required to understand financial data and processes, though formal accountancy qualifications are not necessary. Experience working within a local government or council environment is highly desirable, as it will facilitate a better understanding of the specific data and operational context. Strong communication skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work independently in a remote setting are also important for success in this role.
Responsibilities
- Manipulate and analyze large quantities of financial and operational data to support decision-making processes.

Benefits
This role offers competitive pay at £22.55 per hour PAYE, with flexible working hours of 25 hours per week from 10 AM to 3 PM, Monday through Friday. The fully remote nature of the position provides the flexibility to work from any location, with only monthly in-person meetings in Havering, which are not mandatory.
