Role Overview
We’re looking for a Backend Engineer (Golang) to join our founding engineering team and help design, build, and scale ServAfri’s cloud infrastructure and internal APIs.
You’ll work directly with the CTO and cloud team to develop distributed systems, server orchestration logic, billing APIs, and developer tools that power the ServAfri ecosystem.
This role is remote and equity-based — perfect for engineers who want to own real impact in Africa’s next big cloud startup.

Responsibilities
• Design and build high-performance APIs and backend services in Go (Golang)
• Develop and maintain microservices that handle cloud orchestration, billing, and deployment
• Work with PostgreSQL, Redis, and Docker to deliver scalable services
• Collaborate with the DevOps and Infrastructure team to integrate with Kubernetes and CI/CD
• Write clean, testable, and well-documented code
• Participate in architecture discussions and future-proof design planning

Requirements
• 2+ years experience with Golang
• Strong understanding of RESTful APIs, microservices, and cloud-native development
• Familiarity with PostgreSQL, Redis, and Docker
• Basic understanding of CI/CD pipelines
• Startup mindset — comfortable building fast and learning faster
• Passion for solving Africa’s cloud and infrastructure challenges
