About The Opportunity
A well-established, high-volume food manufacturer in the
Southwestern Indiana region is seeking an experienced
Quality Assurance Manager to oversee plant-level quality and food safety programs. This hands-on leadership role ensures compliance with company, customer, and government standards while driving continuous improvement and maintaining product excellence.
The ideal candidate brings a solid foundation in
food production quality systems, including
HACCP, SQF, GMPs, and USDA/FDA compliance, and thrives in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and manage all quality assurance programs for the facility, ensuring compliance with company and customer expectations.
- Oversee inspections, testing, and audits for raw materials, in-process, and finished goods.
- Maintain and improve HACCP, SSOP, and GMP programs; ensure timely corrective actions.
- Partner with production and sanitation leadership to ensure plant-wide adherence to quality and safety standards.
- Support external and internal audits, including SQF, USDA, and FDA.
- Review documentation for pre-shipment, CCPs, and validation studies.
- Train, mentor, and develop QA technicians and plant personnel.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Food Science, Microbiology, or related field preferred.
- 5+ years of QA experience in a food manufacturing.
- HACCP certification required; SQF certification preferred.
- Strong working knowledge of USDA/FDA regulations.
- Excellent problem-solving, communication, and leadership skills.
- Proficient in Microsoft Excel and quality data analysis.
