Position Summary

Briefly Legal is seeking a full-time, highly skilled Systems Administrator to join our dynamic IT team supporting a global legal practice. This fully remote role is critical to maintaining the stability, security, and efficiency of our technology infrastructure. The ideal candidate will have deep expertise in Microsoft Entra ID and the broader Microsoft Entra tech stack, including Purview, Defender for Endpoint, Exchange, SharePoint, and Teams. Additional strengths should include data migration, software packaging, endpoint imaging, and security development. As a Systems Administrator, you will lead initiatives that ensure seamless operations across our cloud-based and remote-first environment, enabling our legal professionals to work securely and efficiently

Essential Functions & Responsibilities

Responsibilities include:

  • Support and guide technical projects, ensuring timely execution and high-quality outcomes.
  • Support mid-to-large scale, multi-user, multi-site environments, including remote workforce across PCs, Macs, and mobile devices.
  • Implement and manage Microsoft cloud solutions including:
  • Microsoft Entra ID and the broader Microsoft tech stack.
  • Intune (Conditional Access, Compliance, Security Baseline, App Policies).
  • Maintain documentation for systems, network diagrams, and configurations.
  • Windows 11, Windows Server, MacOS.
  • Microsoft 365, Exchange, SharePoint, Teams.
  • PowerShell and Power Automate for scripting and workflow automation.
  • Administer and support IaaS, PaaS, and SaaS enterprise applications.
  • Provide full lifecycle support: maintenance, updates, troubleshooting, vulnerability remediation.
  • Provision software and hardware; assist in procurement of firm-wide IT solutions.
  • Deliver advanced endpoint support and troubleshooting; document procedures and best practices.
  • Package and deploy software in real time; support legal-specific applications across endpoints.
  • Collaborate with IT, legal, and security teams to align endpoint strategies with organizational goals.
  • Communicate effectively with end-users; provide training and documentation.
  • Provide video and online support to end-users, with occasional in-person assistance as needed.
  • Coordinate activities with IT leadership.
  • Monitor and respond to security.
  • Administer and support VoIP systems, including MS Voice and RingCentral.
  • Experience with iManage Work, iManage SPM, and data migration tools.

Education & Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology or a related field, or 5+ years of hands-on experience in systems administration (both preferred).
  • Proficiency in PowerShell and Power Automate for scripting and workflow automation.
  • Proven experience in software packaging, real-time deployment, and security development.
  • Strong understanding of endpoint management and security best practices.
  • Hands-on experience with Microsoft Entra ID, Microsoft Intune, and integration across the broader Microsoft tech stack.
  • Excellent troubleshooting, problem-solving, communication, and collaboration skills.
  • Experience supporting legal professionals or law firm environments preferred.
