Join us as a Chapter Lead (m/f/d) in our Verification & Validation team and help shape the future of autonomous mobility!
As the Verification & Validation team, we ensure that autonomous driving systems are safe, reliable, and ready for the road. We bridge simulation, testing, and real-world validation through data-driven insights and visual models. Our mission is to answer the critical question: "Is the system ready to deploy?"
We're a diverse group with backgrounds in data science, machine learning, statistics, and automotive testing. We value collaboration, curiosity, and the drive to solve complex problems that directly impact road safety.
What you will do
- Lead with Servant Leadership: Guide and inspire your chaptees using a servant leadership approach. By fostering a supportive and empowering environment, you will enable their overall career development.
- Proactively balance your hats: As chapter lead, you enjoy balancing your hats and setting clear expectations with the team. You will be spending 50% of your time on average on very empathetic people leadership tasks – changing over time and depending on the overall demands and projects in the larger organisation.
- Holistic People Management: In collaboration with other roles, you ensure fair and unbiased salaries across your chapter. You align business goals with personal growth opportunities, conducting discovery dialogs, as well as administrative tasks such as managing absences.
- Be a role model: You represent the core values and principles of MOIA in people leadership as much as product delivery in the team. As a chapter lead in MOIA, you rise by lifting others.
- Culture Development: Together with the other chapter leads, you will play an active role in shaping and nurturing the MOIA tech culture, ensuring it remains innovative and inclusive.
- Individual Contributor: You will continue to work as an individual contributor in your current team.
What will help you to fulfill your role
- You have a collaborative mindset and can translate complex analytics into actionable insights for diverse stakeholders—from engineers to decision-makers.
- You're curious and analytical, with an investigative approach to problem-solving. You don't just find patterns—you understand what they mean and why they matter.
- You have a passion for guiding and supporting colleagues in their career development.
- You are interested in attracting and retaining talented team members. You are curious about the dynamics of organizational development and eager to contribute to shaping it.
- You value giving and receiving constructive feedback. You know how to navigate and resolve conflicts both for yourself as well as for others.
- You have a background in data science, machine learning, statistics, or a related technical field.
- You're proficient in Python and SQL, and comfortable building data pipelines and analysis scripts. Experience with statistical modeling (regression, classification, clustering, anomaly detection) and time-series analysis is essential.
- Previous experience with professional software engineering practices, like version control (git), unit testing, and an understanding of the python package ecosystem.
- You have experience with data visualization tools (e.g., Apache Superset, Tableau, or custom solutions) and know how to tell compelling stories with data.
- You're familiar with cloud platforms (AWS, GCP, or Azure) and understand how to build scalable analytics solutions.
Nice to have:
- Familiarity with data modelling in Data Warehouses or Lakehouse platforms, ETL and ELT.
- Understanding of autonomous driving systems, V&V processes, or safety-critical AI applications.
- Knowledge of safety standards (ISO 26262, ASPICE) or EU regulations for autonomous vehicles.
- Experience with feature engineering from multi-modal sensor data (camera, lidar, radar).
- Familiarity with GenAI, federated learning, or multi-agent systems.
- Background in computer vision, scene understanding, or perception systems.
- You're comfortable working in a multi-national team with occasional travel for meetings (e.g., PI Planning, ~1x/month). You value diverse perspectives and enjoy working in a hybrid environment where experimentation and learning are encouraged.
- Most importantly, you're excited about shaping the AI backbone of autonomous vehicle validation.
We welcome applicants from diverse backgrounds — even if you don't meet every requirement. If you're excited about the role and MOIA's mission, we'd love to hear from you!

Since we love to collaborate, it is clear to us that we don't want to become a fully remote company, but we also don't need to spend every day of the week in the office to do a great job.
Our current hybrid work approach focuses on adapting to different needs, including increased flexibility that works best for the teams and the individuals with as much self-determination as possible.
