System Test Engineer

Title: Validation Engineer

Type: Direct Hire

Location: Near Rockford, IL (onsite)

Pay: 95-125k + Bonus + Full Benefits + Other Perks

What You’ll Do

• Develop and execute validation and verification plans for electrical and electro-mechanical systems
• Translate design specifications into test cases and acceptance criteria
• Design, set up, and operate load/functional test configurations across multiple system scenarios
• Build and refine automated test fixtures and procedures for repeatability and efficiency
• Conduct validation on systems with motors, GUIs, and IoT connectivity
• Ensure compliance with regulatory standards (EFT, PQFP, HiPot, EMC testing, emissions)
• Collaborate with engineering teams on root cause analysis and corrective actions
• Document all test activities, including reports, traceability, and compliance records

What We’re Looking For

• Bachelor’s in Electrical Engineering, Electronics Technology, or related field
• 3+ years in validation/verification within product development
• Hands-on experience with load/functional testing, GUIs, and embedded systems
• Knowledge of schematics, electronic design standards, and test automation tools (LabVIEW, Python, etc.)
• Familiarity with EMC and regulatory testing for commercial products
• Strong analytical and cross-functional collaboration skills

Preferred

• Appliance or electro-mechanical systems industry experience
• Exposure to Agile, V-model, or waterfall product development cycles
• Understanding of environmental and stress testing (thermal, vibration, etc.)
