Summary: BRI requires an IT Support Specialist who is excited to grow technological capabilities while maintaining a high level of daily operations. The IT Support Specialist (ITSS) is responsible for assisting with the procurement, installation, maintenance, configuration, and reliable operation of all company information technology systems, while promoting a culture of technical excellence, security, and continuous improvement. The ITSS assists the System Administrator (SA) in responding to all technical issues from across the company in a timely and professional manner. The ITSS assists the SA in making IT outsource decisions, balancing the resource constraints of a small IT group and risk management of business-critical projects.
Key Responsibilities/Duties:
- IT Architecture Support: Exhibit positive, professional interpersonal skills in all interactions with colleagues from various departments and executive levels. Serve as the first line of support to SA in IT topics and provide support to users as the first point of contact for issues. Resolve issues directly where possible and manage outsourced issue tickets for timely resolution. Serve as an interface with IT solutions vendors who manage internet, phones, software licensing, and workstations. (30%)
- Data Report Development, Generation, and Analytics: Develop reports for executives and managers as requested. Automate reports as needed and implement “second level” data analytics that provide actionable KPIs. (30%)
- IT Security: Serve as the company information security officer responsible for all IT security. Conduct risk assessments and implement strategies/operations to close security gaps. Monitor and maintain backup and disaster recovery hardware, software, tests, and plans. Develop and release IT policies in coordination with HR. (20%)
- IT Architecture Planning Support: Assist SA in defining future IT business needs. Help develop and implement IT architecture with performance and capacity tenable company growth plans and contingencies. Research and make recommendations on the best technologies to meet needs. (10%)
- Generate and maintain technical documentation. Provide training to all users. (10%)
Qualifications/Skills:
Experience/Education: Associates or Bachelor of Science (BS) degree in Computer Science/Engineering, Information Technology/Systems, or closely related field; OR possess equivalent (4 years minimum) working experience.
Hardware:
- Must be proficient in Purchasing, installation, maintenance, replacement, and troubleshooting of printers, desktop workstations, laptops, tablets, and peripherals (HP preferred).
- Preferred proficiency in: Maintain and troubleshoot manufacturing IT devices such as RF scanners, label printers, and other equipment.
Software: - Must be proficient in: Microsoft Windows 11, as well as Windows Server 2016 or greater System Administration, Microsoft 365 Use and System Administration, Microsoft Excel with VBA coding expertise is preferred.
- Preferred proficiency in:
- Python or similar language
- Enterprise Resource Planning (DELMIAWORKS®, IQMS, SAP, or other) System Administration
- Oracle Database: 19c
- CAD System Administration: SOLIDWORKS® Preferred, CATIA, NX, Onshape, or other
- Industrial Automation and Communications (Euromap 63/67, OPC-DA/UA, KEPServerEX, others)
- Linux operating systems
- SAP Crystal Reports or other reporting software
- RF system servers (StayLinked, Ataman, other)
Communication: Excellent English verbal and written communication skills are required. Must be able to interpret documents such as technical documents and manuals. Must be able to analyze and summarize raw data to create reports, presentations, and correspondence; speak and train effectively before groups of employees on IT subjects. Spanish language skills are a plus.
Equipment: Various IT hardware including, but not limited to, printers, fax, phones, desktops, laptops, tablets, monitors, scanners, etc.
Environmental Conditions: Must be able to sit or stand for prolonged periods of time. Individual may be exposed to cold, hot, and/or humid conditions on the manufacturing floor. Must adhere to safety regulations at all times.
Physical Activity Requirements: Must be able to walk, talk, stoop, kneel, crouch, crawl, reach, and use hands to manage or feel objects, tools, or controls. Must be able to lift a minimum of 25lbs.
Vision Requirements: Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and the ability to adjust focus.
Responsibility/Authority: It is the IT Support Specialist’s responsibility to assist in the management of BRI IT assets and systems so that conforming product is produced. It is every employee’s responsibility to identify nonconforming material when identified during normal work assignments.
Location: This position is at BRI headquarters in Winchester, VA. This position requires relocation to the Winchester area. Limited telework (<20%) is an option with manager approval for projects that do not require onsite physical presence.
Travel: Less than 10% travel required. Occasional travel to training, conferences, vendors, and other local BRI sites may be required.
Type of Employment: Full-time, salaried exempt, Monday-Friday. Occasional night and weekend work may be required. Weeks will vary, but this position can expect to work at least 45 hours per week to accomplish individual and department goals.
Salary and Benefits: Salary is commensurate with experience. BRI offers nine (9) paid company holidays and a competitive vacation policy. BRI offers medical, dental, and vision insurance available on the first of the month after the first 30 days of employment. 401(k) with company matching program is available after one (1) year employment. Professional development assistance is also available on a case-by-case basis as the company's needs require. This position is eligible for a performance-based bonus.
