The role
The Director of Procurement for IT, Payments, and Corporate Services is a senior strategic leadership role responsible for developing, implementing, and managing global and regional strategies across several sub-categories within IT, Payments and Corporate Services. You will lead a team of Category Managers to drive value, optimize costs, mitigate risk, and build strong partnerships with key suppliers and internal senior stakeholders. You are an expert negotiator with deep category knowledge in technology, payment ecosystems, and a broad range of corporate services.
What You’ll Do
- Strategic Sourcing & Category Management:
- Together with the team develop and execute comprehensive, multi-year category strategies for all areas of responsibility, including:
- Tech: SaaS/Software licensing, cloud services (IaaS, PaaS), hardware, data centers, telecommunications, and IT professional services.
- Payments: Payment gateways, processors, fraud & risk management solutions, acquiring banks, and alternative payment methods.
- Corporate Services: Professional services (Consulting, Legal, Audit), People Services (Benefits, Recruitment, Translation, Training), and Travel.
- For major suppliers, lead the full strategic sourcing lifecycle, including market analysis, RFP/RFI/RFQ development, supplier negotiations, and contract execution.
- Establish and manage robust relationships with strategic suppliers to foster innovation, monitor performance, and drive continuous improvement.
- Leadership & Team Development:
- Lead, mentor, and develop a high-performing team of category managers and procurement specialists.
- Set clear objectives and key results, provide regular feedback, and foster a culture of excellence, collaboration, and professional growth.
- Allocate resources effectively to ensure strategic priorities are met.
- Stakeholder Engagement & Business Partnership:
- Build and maintain strong, collaborative relationships with senior-level stakeholders, especially in Tech, P&O and Finance in the central HQ and in the local markets.
- Act as a trusted advisor to the business, providing market intelligence and expert guidance to inform strategic decisions.
- Promote Indirect Procurement holistically across the business.
- Risk Management & Procurement Excellence
- Identify and deliver significant cost savings and value-add opportunities across all managed categories.
- Provide input for budgets, forecasts, and reports on procurement metrics.
- Proactively identify and mitigate third-party risks, including financial, operational, compliance, and data security risks, particularly within the IT and Payments domains.
- Ensure all procurement activities adhere to company policies, ethical standards, and legal/regulatory requirements.
- Drive continuous improvement of procurement processes, policies, and systems.
- Leverage data analytics and technology to enhance decision-making and category insights.
What You’ll Bring
- 10+ years of experience in indirect procurement, with at least 5 years in a leadership/management role.
- Demonstrated deep subject matter expertise in sourcing complex IT (especially SaaS and Cloud) and/or Payments categories.
- Proven track record of leading complex negotiations for multi-million dollar contracts and delivering significant cost savings and value.
- Exceptional leadership and team management skills with a passion for developing talent.
- Outstanding communication, influencing, and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to partner effectively with senior executives.
- Strong analytical, and problem-solving capabilities.
- Experience in a high-growth, global technology, FinTech, or e-commerce company.
- Hands-on experience with e-procurement platforms such as Workday, Coupa, or Ariba, and CLM systems and sourcing systems.
