Job Summary – Integration Engineer

Location: 4 days onsite in Cincinnati, OH (relocation required for non-local candidates)

Key Responsibilities

  • Participate in design, development, testing, debugging, maintenance, and documentation of software components following SDLC best practices
  • Develop, implement, and maintain EDI integrations, primarily using IBM Sterling B2Bi or similar tools
  • Manage file transfers and data exchanges in compliance with EDI standards (ANSI X12, EDIFACT, etc.)
  • Create and optimize complex SQL queries; some coding using Java and Angular as needed
  • Work closely with suppliers and internal teams; demonstrate strong communication and collaboration skills
  • Lead design discussions and ensure high-quality codebase; mentor team members on software development best practices
  • Implement and support CI/CD pipelines, infrastructure automation, and change management processes
  • Participate in enterprise standards implementation across various technical domains (operations, infrastructure, security, etc.)
  • Analyze technology environment, detect deficiencies, and recommend improvements
  • Manage and coordinate with offshore teams as required
  • Provide technical clarity and drive digital innovation in alignment with company’s strategic objectives

Required Skills And Experience

  • 5+ years hands-on experience in software/infrastructure development, with proven track record in large-scale system design and delivery
  • Expertise in EDI standards, compliance, and tools (preferably IBM Sterling B2Bi)
  • Strong SQL skills; familiarity with object-oriented design, design patterns, code reusability, and unit testing
  • Experience with middleware integrations (IBM MQ, APIGEE, Kafka), communication protocols (AS2, SFTP), and IBM Data Power appliance
  • Experience with web technologies (Angular, Java, Spring Boot, SOAP/REST)
  • Familiarity with ITSM/change management processes
  • Understanding of network and security architecture
  • Excellent written, oral, and presentation skills

Preferred/Desired Skills

  • Retail or supply chain industry experience
  • Experience with system architecture and cloud services (Azure, Google Cloud Platform)
  • Experience with elastic architectures, scaling, and reliability design
  • Experience working with FSMA regulations
  • Experience mentoring and building inclusive, team-based environments
  • DevOps experience (CI/CD, infrastructure automation) is a plus

Note: This is not a developer role, but strong coding and integration skills are required. Good communication is essential for supplier interfacing.
