We’re looking for an experienced IT Manager to help support our growing studio! This is a unique opportunity to be part of an innovative game studio and help build an IT department ready to take on the challenges a fully remote studio faces every day. The ideal candidate will have a proven track record of being the day-to-day person for all things IT, a deep understanding of IT Support for the games industry and its various disciplines, keeping detailed inventory & records of hardware and software licenses, and building/executing best-in-class IT processes that would continue to make Nerd Ninjas the ideal place to work for the games industries top talent.

Flexibility & Remote Work:

Responsibilities

Hardware & Asset Management


  • Procure, configure, and deploy laptops, monitors, and peripherals.
  • Maintain and track inventory of all company-owned devices.
  • Coordinate repairs, replacements, and returns of equipment.


Employee Onboarding & Offboarding


  • Set up devices, accounts, and required software for new hires.
  • Ensure secure access removal and asset recovery for departing employees.


Software & Licensing


  • Manage SaaS subscriptions (Slack, Jira, Confluence, Unity, Adobe, Zoom, etc.).
  • Monitor seat usage, optimize license allocation, and control costs.


Security & Compliance


  • Enforce endpoint security standards (antivirus, encryption, VPN, patching).
  • Configure and administer identity management systems (Okta, Google Workspace, Azure AD).
  • Support compliance efforts (SOC 2, GDPR, HIPAA, or client-mandated requirements).


Helpdesk & Support


  • Provide first-line IT support for employees across hardware, software, and networking issues.
  • Create and maintain documentation, FAQs, and self-help resources.


Policy & Process


  • Develop and enforce IT policies (acceptable use, password standards, remote work security).
  • Continuously recommend and implement improvements to systems, tools, and workflows.



Responsibilities
  • 5+ years of IT experience, with at least 2 years in a leadership or management role.
  • Strong background in device lifecycle management (Mac, Windows, or both).
  • Experience with identity management platforms (Okta, Google Workspace, Azure AD).
  • Hands-on knowledge of SaaS administration (Slack, Jira, Confluence, Unity, Adobe, Zoom).
  • Demonstrated ability to manage endpoint security, patching, and encryption.
  • Familiarity with compliance frameworks such as SOC 2, GDPR, or HIPAA.
  • Excellent troubleshooting skills and a customer-focused approach to IT support.
  • Strong organizational skills to manage inventory, vendors, and IT projects simultaneously.

  • Pluses
    • Previous IT leadership experience in the video game, creative, or tech industries.
    • Knowledge of studio production pipelines (Unity, Unreal, Perforce, or similar tools).
    • Experience supporting hybrid or fully remote teams across multiple geographies.
    • Background with network administration (VPNs, firewalls, cloud networking).
    • Experience scaling IT operations in a fast-growing startup or creative environment.
    • Certification(s) such as CompTIA Security+, CISSP, or Microsoft/Google Admin.
    • Passion for video games and insight into the unique needs of creative development teams.
    • Experience with VR or AR devices.
    • Lives in Spokane, WA.



    Salary Range for this position is: $65k - $95k depending on experience and ability
