Overview
We’re seeking an experienced
Staff Backend Engineer to join our in-office team in San Francisco.
The ideal candidate brings deep backend expertise, hands-on experience with modern programming languages, and familiarity with infrastructure tools common to distributed systems and financial platforms.
Key Responsibilities
- Design, build, and maintain backend services and APIs that support large-scale web applications.
- Collaborate across teams to develop reliable, efficient software solutions.
- Implement and optimize systems leveraging PostgreSQL, Redis, and cloud-based platforms (AWS or equivalent).
- Contribute to architecture decisions for high-availability, fault-tolerant systems.
- Ensure application reliability, scalability, and performance through best practices and code reviews.
- Participate in full-cycle development, from design to production deployment.
Qualifications
Required:
- 5+ years of experience developing and deploying production-grade applications using Python, Go, or Rust.
- Proven track record designing and supporting backend systems and microservices.
- Hands-on experience working with PostgreSQL, Redis, and cloud infrastructure (AWS, GCP, or Azure).
- Background in financial technology or experience supporting products in a regulated or transactional environment.
- Broader full-stack engineering capability — ability to collaborate with frontend teams and contribute to system integration.
- Strong communication skills and a team-first mindset.
Work Location: San Francisco, CA (In-office role)
Compensation Range: $200,000 – $400,000 annually
