The Technology Leader - Data Science is a management level role that will drive Prodege’s experimentation, business intelligence reporting, modeling, and machine learning capabilities to power ranking, pricing, and personalization at scale. This role is integral to ensuring that business goals translate into measurable and actionable data science outcomes, delivering models that directly impact revenue growth, user engagement, and overall platform optimization. By combining deep technical expertise with a strong product and business mindset, the Head of Data Science will elevate experimentation rigor, causal inference frameworks, and applied machine learning across the organization—ultimately ensuring Prodege’s data-driven advantage in the marketplace.

  • The ideal candidate will be located in the Southern Ca area and be available to report to the El Segundo Headquarter's office two to three days per week. Prodege is open to visa sponsorship for this role.***

Primary Objectives

  • Experimentation Leadership: Own A/B testing frameworks, uplift modeling, and causal inference methods to rigorously evaluate the true impact of models.
  • Applied ML Deployment: Lead the design, development, and productionization of machine learning models for ranking, pricing, and personalization.
  • BI Reporting & Insights: Oversee the design, delivery, and continuous improvement of business intelligence reporting and dashboards, ensuring leaders across the company have timely, accurate, and actionable insights to inform strategic and operational decisions.
  • Feature Innovation: Guide feature engineering efforts from event-level auction data and user engagement signals to maximize model performance.
  • Strategic Translation: Convert business objectives into experimentation plans, model KPIs, and measurable outcomes that drive P&L impact.
  • Cross-Functional Collaboration: Partner with Product, Engineering, and Analytics leaders to embed data science into business decision-making.
  • Team Development: Lead , mentor, and scale a high-performing data science team, fostering innovation, technical excellence, and business alignment.

Detailed Job Duties

  • Define and oversee experimentation frameworks, ensuring models are rigorously validated against business KPIs.
  • Lead development and productionization of machine learning models and BI reporting for ranking, pricing, and personalization.
  • Design and oversee the delivery of scalable BI reporting solutions (e.g., dashboards, automated reports) that provide actionable insights to business leaders.
  • Ensure BI reporting integrates seamlessly with experimentation and modeling outputs to support executive decision-making, P&L management, and revenue growth initiatives.
  • Drive feature engineering innovation from event-level auction and engagement data.
  • Partner with Product and Engineering to design systems that enable real-time experimentation and model deployment.
  • Establish data science standards, processes, and best practices across experimentation and modeling.
  • Translate executive-level business goals into data science roadmaps, measurable KPIs, and experimentation milestones.
  • Mentor, coach, and grow data science talent within the organization, ensuring the team remains at the forefront of applied ML.
  • Present findings, model performance, and experimentation outcomes to executive leadership and stakeholders.
  • Monitor industry trends and emerging technologies in machine learning, personalization, and experimentation to maintain Prodege’s competitive edge.

Success in this role means Prodege’s machine learning models and experimentation practices consistently deliver measurable impact to the business. The Technology Leader - Data Science will establish a culture of rigorous testing and causal measurement, ensuring models not only ship but drive meaningful revenue and engagement outcomes. The role will build a scalable experimentation infrastructure, strengthen collaboration across Product and Engineering, and elevate the company’s data science capabilities to a strategic advantage in the ad tech and consumer engagement marketplace.

The MUST Haves

  • Eight or more years (8+) experience leading applied data science in ranking, pricing, or personalization domains.
  • Bachelor of Science degree in Computer Science, Statistics, Mathematics, or related field.
  • Deep expertise in machine learning, statistical modeling, BI reporting, causal inference, and experimentation frameworks.
  • Strong track record of shipping ML models into production environments, not just prototyping.
  • Ability to design and interpret complex experiments, including uplift modeling and causal analysis.
  • Advanced knowledge of feature engineering from large-scale event data (e.g., auctions, engagement logs).
  • Demonstrated success in translating business goals into data science strategies, KPIs, and measurable outcomes.
  • Prior experience in a senior data science leadership role within ad tech, recommendation systems, or user acquisition optimization.

The Nice To Haves

  • Ph.D. or advanced degree in Computer Science, Statistics, Mathematics, or related field.
  • Experience working in mobile gaming, UA networks, or performance marketing platforms.
  • Familiarity with large-scale data pipelines, real-time bidding systems, and personalization engines.
  • Demonstrated ability to influence executive stakeholders and align technical priorities with business strategy.

Pay Transparency

The anticipated base salary range for this position is $220,000 to $285,000. The final salary offered to a successful candidate will be dependent on several factors that may include, but are not limited to; the type and length of experience within the job, type and length of experience within the industry, the type and length of knowledge and skills for the position, education, training, etc. Prodege is a multi-state employer and final compensation within this range could be impacted by work location. Please note that the compensation details listed in US role postings reflect the base salary only, and do not include bonus, equity, or benefits.
