This role is responsible for maintaining the stability, performance, and availability of critical production systems in a fully remote environment. The Production Support Engineer will act as the first point of contact for incidents, collaborate with development and operations teams, and proactively resolve technical issues. The role requires strong analytical and problem-solving skills, experience with cloud platforms and monitoring tools, and the ability to optimize processes for reliability and scalability. This position offers an opportunity to work closely with cross-functional teams to enhance system performance and contribute to continuous improvement initiatives.

Accountabilities:

The Production Support Engineer will oversee production system operations and drive improvements in system reliability:

  • Serve as the primary contact for application and infrastructure support requests
  • Manage, log, and resolve production incidents, ensuring timely communication with stakeholders
  • Conduct root cause analysis of recurring issues and implement long-term solutions
  • Collaborate with software development and DevOps teams to troubleshoot and maintain applications
  • Optimize system performance, capacity, and scalability through process improvements
  • Maintain and update system documentation, runbooks, and incident reports
  • Support release management activities to ensure smooth deployments
  • Monitor production systems and third-party integrations using tools like Datadog and CloudWatch
  • Provide on-call support and participate in incident management as required


Requirements

Candidates should have a strong technical foundation and experience in production support:

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or a related discipline, or equivalent work experience
  • Minimum of 4 years of experience in application support, system administration, or software development
  • Strong knowledge of operating systems (Linux/Unix and Windows)
  • Experience with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP) and CI/CD tools
  • Familiarity with ITIL processes and service management tools (e.g., Jira, ServiceNow)
  • Excellent problem-solving, analytical, and multitasking abilities
  • Ability to work independently in a fast-paced, high-pressure environment
  • Preferred: Experience in the Property & Casualty (P&C) insurance industry
