About The Role
Abre is seeking a talented Product UI/UX Designer II to join our team and help shape the future of our educational products. In this role, you will be instrumental in translating the company's vision into intuitive, accessible, and engaging designs that enhance user experience across various platforms. You will work collaboratively within cross-functional squads comprising product managers, engineers, and QA teams to develop and refine product features. Your responsibilities will include conducting user research, creating wireframes, prototypes, and high-fidelity designs, as well as contributing to Abre’s design system to ensure consistency and scalability. This position is ideal for a designer who is empathetic, thoughtful, and passionate about creating meaningful educational experiences that resonate with diverse users, including educators, students, and families. Your work will directly impact how learning tools are experienced and adopted, making a tangible difference in education accessibility and engagement.
Qualifications
- 1–4 years of experience as a UI/UX Designer working on responsive web products
- Proficiency with modern design tools such as Figma
- Experience collaborating directly with developers and product managers
- Understanding of accessibility standards (WCAG) and inclusive design practices
- Excellent written, verbal, and visual communication skills
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple projects independently
- Comfort working in a fully remote environment with cross-functional teams
Responsibilities
- Contribute to shaping the vision for Abre’s product experiences by translating strategic goals into user-centered designs
- Conduct light user research and usability testing to gather insights that inform design decisions
- Analyze industry trends and competitor products to identify opportunities for usability improvements and brand consistency
- Create wireframes, prototypes, and high-fidelity designs to communicate complex workflows clearly
- Collaborate with product managers, engineers, and QA teams to design, prototype, and deliver new features and enhancements
- Partner with engineering teams to ensure accurate implementation and smooth handoffs of designs
- Maintain and own portions of Abre’s design system, ensuring consistency across desktop and mobile platforms
- Share work regularly with colleagues and stakeholders, incorporating feedback and explaining design rationale effectively
- Promote accessibility and inclusive design principles across all product experiences
- Demonstrate empathy for users by understanding their challenges and designing solutions that address their needs
- Communicate design decisions clearly to stakeholders and team members, advocating for user-centered approaches
