Job Description

We are partnering with a startup that is transforming healthcare referral management for admissions teams. We aim to simplify what has long been a disjointed, inefficient process that hinders patient access to care.

They are looking for an exceptional engineer to join our founding team and take ownership of critical components across our technology stack. In this role, you'll collaborate directly with the CTO and CPO to architect, develop, and optimize our platform. As an early team member, you'll have significant influence on technical decisions, product direction, and company culture. Your work will directly translate to improved healthcare access for patients by streamlining referral processes that currently create bottlenecks in the system. This is a rare opportunity to leverage your technical expertise to solve meaningful problems in healthcare while having substantial impact on a growing organization.

The ideal candidate is someone who sees the value in joining an early-stage product that's already making real-world impact, and is interested in the potential of significant equity upside as we grow.

***Unfortunately, this company cannot provide any kind of sponsorship. This role is also fully remote but candidates will need to be in EST. The max salary for this is 120k***

Key Responsibilities:

  • Backend Architecture: Design and implement scalable backend services using Node.js, SQL, and ORMs like Prisma/Sequelize/Drizzle. Create efficient API endpoints that handle growing demands.
  • Frontend Development: Build responsive, intuitive user interfaces with Next.js that deliver exceptional user experiences while maintaining performance.
  • Automation Workflows: Develop and maintain automation processes, particularly using browser automation tools like Playwright/Puppeteer for testing and data processing.
  • Database Optimization: Design comprehensive data models and optimize queries to ensure database performance as the application scales.
  • Agile Execution: Ship high-quality code independently while staying aligned with the product roadmap and business objectives.

Requirements:

  • 6+ years web programming experience
  • 4+ years with Node.js
  • 2+ years with Next.js
  • 3+ years with SQL
  • Experience with ORMs (Prisma, Sequelize, Drizzle)
  • Strong communication skills and ability to work independently
  • Proficiency with copilot-powered IDEs (VSCode + Copilot, Cursor, Windsurf, etc.)

Good to have:

  • Healthcare industry experience
  • Browser automation experience
