Data Engineer Junior in
Latin America.
This role offers a fantastic opportunity for an early-career data professional to contribute to building scalable and efficient data pipelines in a cloud environment. You will work on extracting, transforming, and loading data from multiple sources, maintaining SQL structures in BigQuery, and automating workflows using Airflow. The position emphasizes collaboration, continuous learning, and hands-on exposure to modern cloud technologies, providing a solid foundation in data engineering practices. You will also document processes, participate in project tracking, and contribute to the democratization of data across teams. Accountabilities
- Design, optimize, and maintain ETL processes ensuring consistent, scalable data flows
- Build and manage SQL structures for BigQuery, focusing on performance and query efficiency
- Extract and transform data from various sources, including APIs, relational databases, and NoSQL databases like MongoDB
- Collaborate on migration and optimization of data pipelines within Google Cloud Platform (GCP)
- Automate tasks and data integration processes using Airflow
- Document data architectures, workflows, and processes in Confluence
- Participate in task management and project tracking through Jira
Requirements
- Minimum 1 year of experience in a similar role (Data Engineer or Data Analyst with technical focus)
- Hands-on experience with cloud platforms, ideally GCP
- Strong proficiency in Python for scripting, automation, and API consumption
- Solid SQL skills for creating, optimizing, and maintaining BigQuery structures
- Basic familiarity with MongoDB (data queries and essential commands)
- Experience managing ETL processes and workflow orchestration tools like Airflow
- Proficiency with version control systems such as Git/GitLab
- Ability to read and create technical documentation in Confluence
- Experience using Jira for task management and project tracking
- Strong attention to detail, eagerness to learn, and a collaborative mindset
