In this role, you will be responsible for maintaining the reliability, performance, and operational integrity of security telemetry infrastructure across cloud and on-prem environments. You will build and manage scalable data pipelines, monitor real-time security events, and respond to anomalies to ensure high-fidelity threat detection. Working closely with cross-functional teams, you will streamline observability processes, mentor junior engineers, and contribute to operational excellence. This role emphasizes automation, operational efficiency, and collaborative problem-solving, enabling security teams to respond effectively to incidents while maintaining continuous visibility across critical systems. The position is fully remote and open to candidates in multiple U.S. time zones.

Accountabilities:

As a Security Engineer, Observability, you will:

  • Build, enhance, and deploy data pipelines to integrate into security monitoring systems
  • Plan, configure, troubleshoot, and maintain security telemetry infrastructure in collaboration with team members
  • Automate manual processes to improve operational efficiency
  • Monitor and respond to incidents, ensuring timely resolution
  • Collaborate across multiple business units to enhance security observability
  • Mentor junior engineers and foster a culture of knowledge-sharing and continuous learning
  • Document procedures, standards, and best practices for observability operations
  • Stay up to date with security trends and technologies to strengthen the organization's security posture


Requirements

Ideal candidates will have a combination of technical expertise, security knowledge, and operational experience:

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Security, or a related field, or equivalent experience
  • 4+ years of hands-on experience in security engineering roles, focusing on enterprise-grade solutions
  • Relevant industry certifications such as CISSP, GSEC, or Security+
  • Experience managing infrastructure in cloud and hybrid environments
  • Hands-on knowledge of Linux administration
  • Proficiency in scripting and automation (e.g., Python, Bash) or developing against REST APIs
  • Strong problem-solving skills and ability to work collaboratively in fast-paced environments
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills


Bonus Points:

  • Experience with observability platforms, SIEM, or telemetry infrastructure
  • Familiarity with incident response workflows or threat detection operations
  • Knowledge of CI/CD processes for security system deployments
