SOLUTIONS ARCHITECT – The job profile:
Reporting to the Head of Trust and Identity, this role is a member of the Trust and Identity (T&I) stream within CSO.
The T&I stream is responsible for enabling advanced AAI services at the European and International level. Already, the team delivers services to national and European Research Infrastructures, to the European Open Science Cloud, to EuroHPC systems and to the Erasmus programme, enabling the mobility of hundreds of thousands of students per year.
The Solution Architect role will play a critical role in the success of our client’s T&I Programme. Solution Architects will engage and collaborate with potential and existing customers to design, develop, implement, and deliver AAI solutions. They will work closely with cross-functional teams to transform business requirements into technical solutions, ensuring that projects and initiatives are executed effectively, requirements are addressed, and project timelines are met. Additionally, they will manage regular customer calls, assist with agenda preparation, follow up on action items, and foster positive relationships between our client and external partners.
Analyse and develop tailored IAM solutions: Collaborate with customers to capture their IAM requirements, design and develop comprehensive solutions using the Core AAI Platform.
- Integrate and configure IAM solutions: Seamlessly integrate IAM solutions built on top of the Core AAI Platform with existing customer systems, configure the Core AAI Platform based on customer needs, and ensure alignment with business objectives and technology constraints.
- Develop and maintain IAM policies and procedures: Assist customers in establishing and maintaining IAM policies, procedures, and guidelines to ensure compliance with relevant regulations, industry standards, and best practices.
- Train and support customers' teams: Provide ongoing training, guidance, and support to customers' IT teams for effective management and maintenance of IAM solutions while addressing technical issues and ensuring optimal performance.
- Engage with stakeholders and collaborate with cybersecurity teams: Present at conferences and workshops, develop user-focused support materials, and work closely with cybersecurity teams to ensure IAM solutions are designed and implemented with a strong focus on security and compliance.

Job requirements:
The following experience is required:
Essential:
- A deep understanding of IAM concepts, protocols, and technologies, such as OpenID Connect, SAML2, OAuth.
- Experience in designing, developing, and implementing comprehensive IAM solutions tailored to customers' requirements, including identity provisioning, single sign-on (SSO), and role-based access control (RBAC).
- Demonstrated ability to integrate IAM solutions with existing systems, applications, and platforms, ensuring seamless functionality while minimising disruptions to ongoing operations.
- Capacity to continuously research and evaluate the latest IAM protocols, technologies, and industry best practices, and make informed recommendations based on clients' specific needs.
- Strong organisational and time management skills, with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously, define project timelines, and ensure timely delivery of projects.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English, with the ability to effectively communicate complex technical concepts to diverse audiences, both in small group settings and large presentations.
- A collaborative mindset and the ability to work effectively with cross-functional teams, engage with stakeholders, and maintain positive relationships with both internal and external partners.
- Experience in preparing user training material, hands-on workshops, info shares, screencasts and other user facing support material in the form of blog posts, case studies, hands-on examples, etc.
- Experience in providing training, guidance, and ongoing support to clients' IT teams, helping them effectively manage and maintain their IAM solutions.
- Knowledge of relevant regulations, industry standards, and best practices in IAM, as well as the ability to work closely with cybersecurity teams to ensure that IAM solutions are designed and implemented with a strong focus on security and compliance.
- Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, distributed team environment, adapting to new technologies and challenges as they arise.
Desirable:
- Knowledge of the AARC Blueprint Architecture and its accompanying implementation guidelines
- Familiarity in programming languages like Python and Java
- Familiarity with infrastructure and configuration management tools such as Ansible and Terraform
- Knowledge of the community and other international Research and Education initiatives, such as the European Open Science Cloud, EuroHPC and the Erasmus+ programme
- Knowledge and understanding of requirement gathering and feedback techniques
- Experience in software development processes and source control and issue tracking systems
