About the client and location
The European Organisation for the Exploration of Meteorological Satellites (EUMETSAT) is a political organisation comprising of 30 European member states. EUMETSAT operates satellites to monitor weather, climate, and the changing environment. They are responsible for helping to isolate potentially dangerous weather conditions that could affect air travel, farming and other key service industries.
Tasks and activities
The scope of work will include:
- Trading-off, prototyping, designing, implementing and verifying new network and information security solutions protecting assets, data and personnel against loss of integrity, availability and confidentiality.
- Operation, maintenance, evolution/re-engineering and troubleshooting of network and information security solutions and infrastructure.
- Analysing the network and computing infrastructure to identify improvements, opportunities and security gaps.
- Assessing technical security and compliance verification of activities with the applicable information security requirements.
- Executing the full vulnerability management lifecycle.
- Participating in the CERT, including provisioning of 24/7 stand-by/on-call and incident response.
Skills and experience
The following skills and experience are mandatory:
- University Degree or equivalent in a relevant field.
- Working knowledge of IT foundations (e.g. network, OS, application, etc.).
- Administration and maintenance of CyberArk in production on operational equipment.
- Vulnerability management, in particular performing vulnerability assessments.
- Administration and maintenance of network security solutions.
- Auditing and implementation of corrective actions of firewall configuration.
- Administration and maintenance of firewalls (i.e. Cisco ASA, Cisco FirePower and Palo Alto).
- Ability to provide 24-7 stand-by/on call services.
- Proficiency in technical writing.
- Desire to work both autonomously and as part of a team, in an international multicultural environment.
- Solution oriented mindset, with a customer focused communication skill.
- Fluent in English, both written and spoken.
The following skills and experience would be highly desirable:
- Designing, implementing and delivering large scale information security solutions.
- Administration and maintenance of information security solutions.
- Security-focused auditing for compliance to either security requirements or standards like ISO/IEC 27000-series.
- Patching and hardening of infrastructure in an operational environment.
- Incident response.
- Forensic analysis.
- Threat intelligence.
- Threat hunting.
- Administration and maintenance of TrendMicro Deep Security in production on operational equipment.
- Administration and maintenance of Rapid7 insightVM/Nexpose in production on operational equipment.
