Northrop Grumman is seeking a
Mission Assurance Manager 2 to support one of our leading programs in
San Diego, CA.
In this role, you will be responsible as the Deputy Mission Assurance Program Manager for all Quality related activities in Production, Sustainment, Development, International and Supplier Quality activities. The assigned program has site operations in San Diego, Palmdale, and multiple off-site locations. Travel across sites may be required.
This position requires management and leading key program meetings including the Preventive Corrective Action Board (PCAB), Risk Management, Program Management Reviews, and Customer Reviews. The Mission Assurance Program Manager will regularly interface with internal and external customers regarding requirements and understanding stakeholder expectations, and develop controls that build confidence for process execution.
The selected candidate will have excellent communication skills and the ability to prepare and present to the customer and Program Leadership team. This role also requires a candidate that can be strategic, think outside of the box, and be successful in a very demanding and challenging environment.
Basic Qualifications
- Must have a Bachelor’s degree AND 9 years of related professional/military experience that includes a background in aircraft, aerospace, or manufacturing industries along with lead/leadership experience, OR a Master’s degree AND 7 years of related professional/military experience that includes a background in aircraft, aerospace, or manufacturing industries along with lead/leadership experience.
- 5+ years of lead/leadership experience
- Must be able to obtain/maintain a DOD Secret clearance (or higher) within 6 months.
- Extensive prior work experience in the application of quality principles and practices (e.g., quality engineering, inspection, systems engineering, material review, etc.) related to engineering and manufacturing
Preferred Qualifications
- Active DoD Secret clearance (or higher)
- Experience in Production, Sustainment and Development Environment
- Experience with product quality and overall Design Quality processes
- Experience in utilizing Agile methodology
- Strong orientation to change in a dynamic and logistically challenging environment
- Understanding of quality policies, procedures, and governmental regulations
- Ability to analyze alternative courses of action where decisions have risk/reward implications for program or area of influence
- Proficiency in root cause and corrective action processes
- A demonstrated ability to communicate effectively, globally, and to all levels of any organization
- Experience developing BOEs (Basis of Estimates) for program proposal phase
- Experience as a CAM in an Earned Value Management environment
- Experience with supplier quality and DOD contracts
- Experience with ISO 9001 or AS9100 based quality management systems
- Experience conducting or managing internal audits

Primary Level Salary Range: $142,200.00 - $213,400.00
The above salary range represents a general guideline; however, Northrop Grumman considers a number of factors when determining base salary offers such as the scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidate's experience, education, skills and current market conditions.
Depending on the position, employees may be eligible for overtime, shift differential, and a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives. In addition, Northrop Grumman provides a variety of benefits including health insurance coverage, life and disability insurance, savings plan, Company paid holidays and paid time off (PTO) for vacation and/or personal business.
